I am very new about car modification. So i bought FP performance pack including the CIA and Procal3. My ford dealer denied to install this, and i dont wanna void my warranty. I ended up going ASE certified mechanic. I dropped my car and my laptop. I told him to use my laptop. after a day the mechanic called me and said its done. he used my user id pass for FP site. but he didnt use my laptop. he said he used his laptop. I asked for backup files he said once u login u will get the backup file, its on cloud (FP site). i always use 93 octane. i drove back home and i didnt feel any change expect the noise. My question is how i am able to know that the guy really install the program to the car???

So you have Performance Pack 1? I can't speak for that one, but I have Perf pack 2, and the change when driving was instant and very noticeable. There was no ECU relearn time required.

It sounds like you don't really trust your mechanic - I don't blame you, that's why I installed mine myself. You say you have a laptop - you should be able to connect to your ODB port and run the Procal software to verify the version of software currently installed. If the mechanic actually installed the CAI, you can reinstall the Procal software yourself just to be sure, so you know it's there. If you do, I recommend you keep a charger on your battery while you do, as people seem to have frequent issues with low battery.

I want to know why a Ford Dealership denied or declined to install a Ford sponsored tune??

What’s the deal there?

My local Ford dealership wanted nothing to do with it. Their rationale was not wanting to deal with Ford Performance if any warranty issues surfaced.

Agree with what's been stated. Get a laptop with the ProCal software loaded and see what it tells you. Also agree that the difference was noticeable instantly. This thing boogies!

OP has an EB which takes a little while to kick in. Many dealers won’t touch the Ford Performance stuff for whatever reason, at least here in the SF Bay Area. Most seem to see the tune kick in at around seventy miles are so. Mine took about two hundred, mostly do to some install issues with the CAI. You will know when it kicks in....

Ford Performance is a separate division and used to be referred to as FRPP. While they make performance products they are not products that are designed to dovetail with meeting Ford MoCo factory warranty.

Here is the disclaimer in the event you somewhow missed it while doing your research.

Love my car but most Ford dealerships suck... at least around here. Actually bought my car 700 miles away and had a ASE tech at a shop install my PP3 because 3 Ford dealerships didn't even know what I was talking about.

He didinduse my laptop .he said he used his laptop..
Sorry I misread it. You can't get a copy of your original tune from any cloud source, if he claims he did it that way he screwed you. Its possible to get a copy of your base tune with your VIN though.

I'm sure you're realizing that in the future, you should do tons of investigation and information/knowledge gathering before you do anything.

You could have installed the "performance pack" yourself, and been 100% certain that it was done correctly.

Sounds to me like you've be ripped-off, and nothing has been done to your car.

I did the performance pack 2 and my Roush/Ford dealer performed the install. No issues and the car rocks!

Ripped off? Ohh yeah. That guy charged me $575 . I will run the Procal software tonight to see what software is running in my car now . Do you know how I am gonna know if it is stock software or the Procal software?

What is the difference between the Procal software and the stock software ? I mean how I am able to know if I run the Procal software?
