FordPass Connect Update

Sorry but, you don’t have it, you can’t get it, and the only way you’re getting a new car is if you buy one.

A few members have tried contacting theIr AG’s about going after Ford But I do not believe it has led to anything.

I would think Ford would have to compensate people with no modem in some way. I don't see how a company can sell a product with missing parts and not do something.

Welcome to America. Unless paying out is cheaper than lawsuits its not worth it for them to pay it out. Companies are not expected to have morals.

I have a 2019 Bullitt. K4702 and my ford pass works fine. I can see mileage location of car, fuel in tank etc....so some bullitts have the equipment and it works just like my f150.

In real time? or grabbed from when your phone was last connected via BlueTooth? Can you remotely unlock your doors?

Ford Pass will populate the info(Tank level, oil life) when connected to BT, but I have yet to see any Bullitts actually have the hardware to do it over-the-air via modem.

Confirmed mine doesn't have a modem either. Was a little confused by that fact when adding it to the Ford Pass App.

Yes, you are right on it is when connected to phone. I played with the app and saw the diffences from my f150 vs bullitt.

I have said this before there is power in numbers. but a lawyer has nothing to gain from this. someone needs to find a pissed lawyer who bought a bullitt then there will be a motive. there is no money to be gain. what you have to do is bring the car in for service and say I cant get this to work! see what they say? do this 3 times within a year and you have a lemon law case!

i have lemon law'd a car before and this is the process 3 times same failure within a year while under warranty.

The problem is nothing failed. It’s just not there. The lemon laws will not help you. Others have already thought of that.
To date I have not read anything indicating that 1. Ford acknowledges the issue and 2. They plan on doing anything about it. 2019 Bullitt owners are just SOOL!

I wonder if anyone has a car that they can lock, unlock remotely using Ford Pass ? In other words how extensive is the problem ? If a large number ( or all ) the 2019 Bullitts are lacking the modem then there is motive for a class action lawsuit. It's a perfect example of why class action lawsuits exist, no one has a large monetary loss but a lot of people have a small loss. For example say half the cars are missing the modem and let's say that is a $2,000 diminished value for each one so roughly an 8 million dollar problem for Ford.

I am pretty sure you will not find a single 2019 Bullitt with the modem. In was not installed in any. I guess there could be the odd few that had it installed in "error".

The funny thing is as i was doing my walk around upon taking delivery. the salesman stated the ford pass was included, he was even going to set it up, but i said i just didn't have the time. stupid me , i could have made an issue of it then. but if Ford does ever state that the price increase was due to the install of Ford pass. then we have a monetary case for the price difference.

None of them have it, because it was never listed as a feature in any of the materials that matter. If you check the official order guide, it is clear that Bullitt models have neither the modem nor FordPass Connect. Not having a feature it was not required to have leaves little room for a lawsuit.

Did a lot of people think that the Bullitt was effectively a fully loaded GT with some extra HP, exclusive color, and distinctive badges? Yes, they did. Were they wrong to think that? Yes, they were.

The full order guide pages for the Bullitt are shown below. Note that it says it has the GT Premium content, not the Premium Plus. You won't find the modem nor FPC in the specs.

On Ford.com under 2019 Mustang Bullitt Specs under Entertainment Systems it shows FordPass with an icon you can click that shows a person using FordPass and it says you can lock and unlock etc. That is the specs I was referring to.
