the 'dual' rate is actually tantamount to a single rate. The car at rest has maybe 1/4" worth of travel before it gets into the stiffer second. It's when you unload a corner and the shock extends longer than 'rest' that the lower rate is in effect. I think the rationale is sound, the choice of rates however is not for DD but rather dedicated track duty. I mean I've lived with it for almost 2 years so it's not like you can't get used to it but short of a track-rat, I wouldn't advise.
