Hey everyone,
I’m trying to install the Ford Performance strut brace on my 2020 GT
This is the brace in question. It’s for the GT 350 but it also says it fits all 2015+ Mustangs
https://www.levittownfordparts.com/sku/fr3z-16a200-c.html

I’m running into a problem with the battery cable. It’s resting on the brace, pretty tight on it too. I’m concerned this could pose a problem. Anyone have any tips? Anyway to loosen something to allow the battery cable to reach a little further? I’ve since removed the brace until I figure this out.
Thanks

Is your battery terminal connected straight?

I have a LITTLE more room on my Bullitt but not a lot. And there is 0 wiggle in it.

Yes it’s straight. I have to force it on the terminal to get it on. Not aggressively, it will go on, but it takes a slight amount of effort.
You seem to have quite a bit more room than I have

Mine is tight as well. I have never liked it that way and if I were to mod the car I would never allow myself to prep it that tight. But its OEM and after three years its still doing great

Do you have slack in the wire coming from the right side of the pic you posted( alternator side)? You might be able to loosen the zip tie part of the clip and use the slack to adjust and give the wire some space

I checked and that cable leads to a bundle of wires that are all taped together. Those are attached to a small bracket. I tried loosening that bracket to see if it would rotate up a little and no luck. I suppose I could cut some of that tape away and free the battery cable to allow more room, but that’s a last resort.

I even loosened the battery hold down and tried to move the battery forward but no luck.

Everything is securely were it is. I’d have to do some serious adjusting to get more slack and I’m not sure I really want to go down that route.

From the other responses here I’d probably be ok with running it like it is. The cable is inside loom and covered in tape. I don’t think it would move at all either, I’m sure it would be fine. I’m just not sure I’m comfortable with it

That's not the gt350 strut tower brace....especially not for 56$. That's just a regular ass strut tower stamped brace.

This is the GT350 brace.

I know on my 2020 GT, the cable is tight enough that I can't get the strut tower brace off without disconnecting the battery cable.

All the gt350 track pack come with the aluminum brace.
Just looked it up. Appears the 2016 GT350 had a track pack option, so that option included the aluminum brace, all 2016 GT350's without that option came with a stamped steel brace. 2017 and later, the track pack was standard equipment, so the aluminum brace was on everything from then on. Learn something new everyday.

I was merely quoting what the ad said on Levittown ford's website
