Huh. I use mine periodically to check oil life, etc., and the remote-start party trick. I haven't (knowingly) subscribed to anything, and have refused the wi-fi hotspot feature much to my boys' chagrin. The remote start function still works - just checked - so it must be hitting cell service somehow. I'm not sure where I read or heard this, but I was under the impression that this function would be included for 5-ish years, then maybe there's a fee? I need to see what I can do to verify that.... Ah, yes, right on the window sticker.

I'd make sure the app is up to date, and get the dealer to fix it if it still doesn't work. It's kind of neat, and I'm sure you're paying for it like I am...

I like having it and have found the app reliable on my iPhone X. In addition to all the other functions, I like using the location service to check where the car is when I drop it off for work for a few days like this weekend when it's getting PPF installed. It's right where it's supposed to be which is re-assuring.

What I posted was for the add-on device for models that did not ship with Smartlink.

Not sure if the new vehicles that ship with Smartlink enjoy a free trial period or its free for life.
There's no monthly fee from Ford. On the current cars, you need SyncConnect to get anything past the "find parking / find fuel" functions and to enable the remote functions. With SyncConnect, after the 3 month / 3GB trial period, there's a monthly fee from AT&T of $20 for an unlimited data plan that includes WiFi in the car.

I will confess that I don't know if you need to take the plan if all you want is the status apps thru your phone without the in-car WiFi.

EDIT: Well, according to the order guide, you get 5 years of remote vehicle start (AT only) / vehicle location / vehicle status for free when you purchase the vehicle. The WiFi function comes with 3 months / 3GB free, after which you need to talk to AT&T.

Has anyone used FordPass? When I bought my Bullitt this last week, the salesman put it on my cell phone for me. I really don't understand the function.
In is pretty mush useless on the Bullitt. All you can do is see the amount of fuel in the tank and oil life.....You can't lock or unlock the car...and of course can't do remote start. So basically a waste of time...…..

The SyncConnect functions (locate vehicle, status, etc.) aren't available on the Bullitt so, yes, if you have a Bullitt all you have are the "find parking" and "find fuel" functions.

So what Mustangs have all the Fordpass features? The 401A cars? Not that I miss it, but it is a useless feature on a 400a

201A EcoBoost and 401A GT. The expanded features are part of the Premium Plus setups.
