I'm in FL and will close on a 2020 GT350 next week .... dealer offers an aftermarket extended warranty from Intellicare...but from what I have read, Ford ESPs don't try to weasel out as much

Does anyone use intellicare? experience? or 3rd party v Ford experience?

My powertrain is up at the end of this year... 3y/36K is gone - fwiw they are offering 3y/36000 zero deduct at $2400 ... need to clarify if it starts now or when power train expires ... but starting now makes sense as bumper to bumper gone even though it doubles up on drivetrain -- Ford premium care quoted between 5 to 6 K

question is less esp or not but ford v 3rd party

I use olive mechanical breakdown insurance. I haven't had to file a claim, but a friend of mine filed a claim on his GT for rear diff work and they honored it. They have different tiers of warranty as well.

Allstate Gold plan. Never a problem. Even my Ford dealership said that the Allstate Plan is a better plan. And I have zero deductible

I've had nothing but good experiences with the Ford ESP.

Lombard, Granger, and Zeigler offer good pricing.
Not for FL residents. Law requires MSRP.

Has anyone heard that there are limited FP engines available? How long does Ford keep parts for the gt350?
Thanks!

I believe the law is manufactures are required to be able to supply parts for 10 years after the vehicle has been discontinued - so this would be 2030 for the GT350

I wouldnt be too concerned about trying to find parts.....when the OE stops, the aftermarket will take over...there were simply too many GT350s built .....

For example- prior to this I owned an original 67 GT500 - only a few 1000 made of course which made finding parts a little work but not impossible....what I always thought was interesting was some of the big name aftermarket Shelby guys like Tony Branda.... if I sent them proof that I owned a real Shelby and I wasnt just building a clone....parts that were "out of stock" suddenly became available ....they definitely gave preferential treatment to actual Shelby owners

I think the rumor on the limited availability comes from Ford recently making a limited run of VooDoo motors available as crate motors and then selling out...

I am sure there are some here with more knowledge on all of this stuff then me -

Personally I think at this point most of the VooDoos that were going to fail will have failed by now- outside of new owners that get them and dont follow the "rules" or people spending all their time at the track ...

Which just reminded me- just went and checked the oil on mine- 16K miles - not track miles but all driven hard since my ownership at approximately 8K miles- not burning a drop of oil...

Personally I think long term these cars will hold value as I think there will always be some kind of Predator/ Coyote based motor in the Mustang/Raptor/F150 - will continue to be newer versions - but I dont see them ever dedicating the resources to build another flat plane crank motor....

Of course holding value is a relative term- I drive mine so not really that concerned about holding value....

Good to know! I had a 17 gt350 I regret selling but only sold because of the fear mongering. I will say there was some oil usage but Ford stated that in their manual.
Looking at possibly buying a 2020 if I can find the right deal. Crazy how these are holding value but not surprised. Thanks again!

May consider the esp as well from Granger Ford.

Regarding 3rd party ESP coverage: my service guy says most of them are just fine. But some have a labor rate ceiling and you get to pay the difference.
No ceiling with Ford’s.
