Sorry to hear this story. I have to say mine has been really good (not perfect). Only issues have been the howling brakes (fixed on TSB) and the ubiquitous Heating Seat Coolers. The rest of the car has been awesome at 10k+ miles.

I went though the buy back process with a F350 diesel.
For the record you have to have a safety related problem in Ca. to even get a lemon law case.
I've had oil leaks and such and that doesn't qualify for lemon law.
Ford knew a car that couldn't pass emissions here can't be driven on the street.
Ford does the buy back so the car doesn't get a lemon title.
They sold my truck off as a nice low mile pre owned.

Some times you just get a stinker. And Fords QC department most have been contracted out to india because I've seen a lot more issues than normal in the S550. I ordered a black car and when I received it the paint had white spots all over it where the paint didn't adhear to the body of the car. Luckly I had read about this issue on another forum and knew to look the car over very carefully! Holman Ford took care of the issue no questions asked and just painted the car. Everything else about the car is just perfect. Hell even my cooled seats are chillin my balls!:D:thumbsup:

You...

Hi everyone,

I was looking for a thread with a similar topic and I couldn't find one so I decided to start my own.

I have been working with Ford to buy back my brand new 2015 Mustang Ecoboost Premium for several months. It had a check engine light on it since the first day I bought it and Ford couldn't fix the problem. Finally Ford has bought back that Lemon they call a mustang.

After reading through so many posts about various issue's with this model mustang, I wanted to see how may others have been able to get Ford to buy back there Lemons.

It's sad for me to say but, this was the most poorly built car I have ever owned. I wanted to love every piece of this car from the cooled seats that blow out hot air, to the great radio that works when it wants, to those plush leather seats that rip as soon as you sit on them. I'll be the first to admit the car looks great but, it runs like a mule not a mustang!

You could have had a 5.0 ...............

Oh a V8 ..........

Congrats on the victory. I've been thru it twice myself. My '04 F-150 and the wife's '10 Sorento. It's a pita process, but it happens with all of them. I just hated my truck had issues as it was my dream truck at the time. Really wanted to replace it with another, but just couldn't bring myself to do it. Ended up with an Expy limited, which turned out to be a great vehicle.

Had a similar experience with an 88 Sable many years ago in CA. Ford bought it back over high book and sold us our choice of 94 at "memo invoice" (invoice less the dealer hold-back) and threw in a 60 month/100,000 mile service plan.

This was an emissions-related driveability issue. They couldn't make it work with CA emissions, so they moved the 88 to Arizona and sold it. We got a heckova deal and were rid of a car that had been really problematic (three transmissions in 55,000 miles, among many other issues.)

This is pretty much my story as well.

Things are not looking good for the 2.3 lt ecoboost. I wonder if the Focus RS will have similar problems!

How long did total process take? I got a little bit to go before I can lemon my car. I hope it gets fixed soon but doesn't look good. I haven't been able to drive my car because of no reverse, third or fourth gear since july 3rd. If my dealer wasnt so busy that it took a week for them to get it in, ford would only have 1 week left to get it fixed. Im just curious how difficult this process will be. I dont want money jusy a new car that runs. This is my 5th Ford and first lemon.

Research more. Out of the problems he listed, only one of them was related to the engine, which others have been able to get fixed. Other cars didn't have it all together. The other problems could have happened to any other Mustang as the infotainment is the same and so are the seats. His bad luck was the Mustang, not the EB.

I've worked at a Ford dealership for 16 years. When Ford lemons a car, we get to sell the customer another car, so it's a great opportunity for us in sales. We do whatever we can to make a lemon law buy back simple & easy for our customers when it happens. Worth noting, though, is that very few cars ever really need to be bought back, as most anything is repairable. But, cars like yours are the exception so I'm glad to hear that Ford stepped up and bought it back from you.

In my 16 years at a Ford dealership, we've sold over 15,000 new Fords, with only about 6 or 7 being lemons. Lemons are a super small percentage, luckily, but Ford is very fair about buying back true lemons, IMHO. I just finished handling a lemon law claim for one of our truck customers. Ford stepped up big time to make this guy super happy and our shop did everything along the way to make sure our customer knew we were on his side, as it should be.

I'm hoping the OP can trust in another Ford product, as one bad Mustang is not indicative of Mustangs as a whole. So now we want to know, is it time for a 5.0L this time around?

Im pretty sure he's not the only member of this forum experiencing the mystery check engine light. I get your a humongous fan of the EB but just from what I've read on this forum and a few other mustang sights this is not an isolated incident.

You posted in the thread after people are saying their cars had been fixed. I am an EB fan, but I also read and understand the English language. There are multiple people on this very forum who never had the issue.

Sometime I think you are willfully dense. It's better to get the information out there then to bury your fanboy head in the sand. Of course the majority of people won't have an issue but for the poor bastards that do have an issue. Threads like this might be helpful to them. I read about an s550 paint issues on another forum and sure enough. When the car I ordered showed up. It had the exact same issues. Instead of giving the car a quick once over. I looked the car over extremely carefully because I was made aware of the issue from a forum post and pointed it out to the sales manager right on the spot. Not days or weeks later. They had no choice but to repaint the car because I was armed with information! I'm not saying the dealership wouldn't have fixed the paint a month later. But they had no excuse when they seen it with their own eyes before I drove the car off the lot. The OP is simply making people aware of a "POTENTIAL" issue. But your so blinded by your fanboyism you see everything as a personal attack. Ford did the right thing in the OPs case. They did the right thing with my paint issue. They don't need you flying in to defend the honor of ever single EB out there! You don't even own one yet. You tell people to research more but you try to suppress any information you don't agree with. You gotta take the good with the bad when your doing research. And this gentleman had a BAD experience.

You are another person on this forum who puts a lot of words but doesn't say anything. You obviously have no reading comprehension as you have continually proven throughout your time here. Interneting is harder for some.

To the original issue, the OP got a shit car. This was not a matter of platform as the seats and infotainment systems are the same throughout the lineup. Are you still with me? The check engine light is a significant problem and it is unfortunate OP's car was unable to be fixed, but it does not negate the fact others have had the same problem and their cars were fixed. Have I lost you yet? Now it also doesn't negate the fact other EB owners on this forum never experienced the CEL issue to begin with. Too complicated?

There is already a thread about the issue, and guess what, it started in this section and was moved to the appropriate section. I don't see what my knowledge of the platform has to do with your ignorance but call it fanboyism all you want. Not sure how I am trying to suppress anything. If the person did what I recommended he would read there has been a fix for the majority of 2.3T owners here with the problem. Unfortunately it did not work for the OP so I am glad he was able to get out of the car because it would definitely show a future of problems.
