I was looking for a thread with a similar topic and I couldn't find one so I decided to start my own.
I have been working with Ford to buy back my brand new 2015 Mustang Ecoboost Premium for several months. It had a check engine light on it since the first day I bought it and Ford couldn't fix the problem. Finally Ford has bought back that Lemon they call a mustang.
After reading through so many posts about various issue's with this model mustang, I wanted to see how may others have been able to get Ford to buy back there Lemons.
It's sad for me to say but, this was the most poorly built car I have ever owned. I wanted to love every piece of this car from the cooled seats that blow out hot air, to the great radio that works when it wants, to those plush leather seats that rip as soon as you sit on them. I'll be the first to admit the car looks great but, it runs like a mule not a mustang!
Had a similar experience with an 88 Sable many years ago in CA. Ford bought it back over high book and sold us our choice of 94 at "memo invoice" (invoice less the dealer hold-back) and threw in a 60 month/100,000 mile service plan.
This is pretty much my story as well.
Research more. Out of the problems he listed, only one of them was related to the engine, which others have been able to get fixed. Other cars didn't have it all together. The other problems could have happened to any other Mustang as the infotainment is the same and so are the seats. His bad luck was the Mustang, not the EB.
I've worked at a Ford dealership for 16 years. When Ford lemons a car, we get to sell the customer another car, so it's a great opportunity for us in sales. We do whatever we can to make a lemon law buy back simple & easy for our customers when it happens. Worth noting, though, is that very few cars ever really need to be bought back, as most anything is repairable. But, cars like yours are the exception so I'm glad to hear that Ford stepped up and bought it back from you.
Im pretty sure he's not the only member of this forum experiencing the mystery check engine light. I get your a humongous fan of the EB but just from what I've read on this forum and a few other mustang sights this is not an isolated incident.
You posted in the thread after people are saying their cars had been fixed. I am an EB fan, but I also read and understand the English language. There are multiple people on this very forum who never had the issue.
Sometime I think you are willfully dense. It's better to get the information out there then to bury your fanboy head in the sand. Of course the majority of people won't have an issue but for the poor bastards that do have an issue. Threads like this might be helpful to them. I read about an s550 paint issues on another forum and sure enough. When the car I ordered showed up. It had the exact same issues. Instead of giving the car a quick once over. I looked the car over extremely carefully because I was made aware of the issue from a forum post and pointed it out to the sales manager right on the spot. Not days or weeks later. They had no choice but to repaint the car because I was armed with information! I'm not saying the dealership wouldn't have fixed the paint a month later. But they had no excuse when they seen it with their own eyes before I drove the car off the lot. The OP is simply making people aware of a "POTENTIAL" issue. But your so blinded by your fanboyism you see everything as a personal attack. Ford did the right thing in the OPs case. They did the right thing with my paint issue. They don't need you flying in to defend the honor of ever single EB out there! You don't even own one yet. You tell people to research more but you try to suppress any information you don't agree with. You gotta take the good with the bad when your doing research. And this gentleman had a BAD experience.
You are another person on this forum who puts a lot of words but doesn't say anything. You obviously have no reading comprehension as you have continually proven throughout your time here. Interneting is harder for some.
