Personally, I don't worry too much about someone stealing my wheels once I get my Mustang...or with any of my other vehicles. Unless you're parked in the ghetto, it doesn't really happen around here. Even in the ghetto I haven't heard of it happening.

I worry MUCH more about keying, dents, vandalism, etc. But for that I'm thinking a dash cam and maybe one on the deck might be a decent start.

But for those who do have the locking lug nuts, not sure if you already knew this or not, but....

Aside from the lug nuts, have you done anything else to protect your vehicle when you are parked somewhere other than your garage?

Thanks

Tool companies make rounded off bolt and nut extractor socket sets. They have spiral sharp edges that bite into the damaged fastener. I used them to get the locks off of my nephews mustang wheels.

If a thief want's something, they're gonna get it. It's more of a deterrence for the average thief who doesn't have the tools to properly take the wheel locks off.

Just like locking your house door or windows wont ultimately stop a thief.

Seems like it's possible....

But as stated above...how long will that take someone and how vulnerable will they be in a parking spot/lot/garage??

For your average thief in a hurry it would most likely be unworth the risk. Then again, can't they order the key or are they one of 20-50 different patterns?

I love mine from HF!!! Lightweight, 2-cycle, and only $88 or so...

I've contemplated picking up a 2nd one just to have on hand and store dry but the first one I bought has yet to fail me!

If one wanted to they could run it in their trunk and it'd blend in with the hum of the engine.

What he said is certainly true, and I'll probably end up getting the Acorns (I think that's what Gorilla calls them). For $20-ish...why not? Just might have to spray paint them to match if the color is off.
