I'm going to get flowmasters (either catback or axel back, not sure yet) for my '16 GT...how much (if any) HP do they add?
And do you have any other exhaust systems that you like even better than flowmasters?

i like the corsa extremes the best for GTs, though your neighbors might not lol.

an exhaust adding any significant HP though....dont think so. especially axlebacks.

Cat-backs don't add much power, if anything they do provide a decent amount of weight savings over the stock system.

Flowmasters have been dubbed as "chokemasters" in the past on other forum sites I've been on.

I just got the MBRP Street Catback and its a pretty good bang for your buck system. Its definitely loud, and has a nice rumble.

It's all subjective, however I had Flows and they were loud but harsh! I've had Borlas (great), stock Boss (great;), and just got Pypes Bomb for my 15.

I'd say these Pypes sound best of the bunch ... and they were cheapest! $350 for axle backs :)

I loved my original Flow-40s on my 04 GT. I fabbed my own exhaust, though. 2.75" with X-pipe, no cats. It was LOUD. Agreed on the not much power. Tone and weight savings is good. The stock cat-back is something like 75lbs vs the 40ish for the Corsa

a buddy had the flowmaster outlaw axleback on his 15 and said the drone was unbareable at highway speeds.

Stay away from Flowmaster!

Where are you located in CA? We can meet up and have you listen to a couple different exhaust setups if you are local.

there's only 2 legit catback systems out there. Borla ATAK and Corsa Extreme. choose one.

There is no perfect setup - go with what you like, ultimately. Listen to videos online (with good headphones) or in person.

Don't go off price alone either ... cheaper does not mean worse nor does more mean better.

Agree. I have Corsa exhaust on my 6 week old 15 GT. Also be aware some exhaust drone. Corsas don't drone. I believe Borlas do not drone either. My son had a 13 GT and had Pypes exhaust. They droned horribly. As far as mods that improve performance I put a Lund tune /nGaunge and JLT CAI. Go with cat backs to remove the resonator (weight). IMHO cat backs sound better and improved flow. Between this and the exhaust I can feel improvement in response, low end torque, shift points and improvement with WOT.

Later in the video are sound Corsa clips.

yep thats why i said those are the only two legit catbacks. nobody has ever complained about drone on either system. there's also the ARH catback, but there's only like 1 person who's ever had them.

I love my flow master Outlaw, it is the noisiest of the bunch, I gained an additional 18bhp and 15lbs/ft when I changed it and tuned again
