That is EXACTLY what mine failed with on Tuesday, although I'll have done a good few less miles than you! Offside? And my car was serviced last Friday. Car now laid up waiting on the part which is apparently on back-order.
My part arrived next day...it’s been fitted already

Could the ball joint wear be down to any mods? Had my MOT and didn't have this problem
I asked the chap whom did the MOT if he thought my wider wheels and tyres could be blamed...

He said he couldn’t see how, and if they were why was the other side fine??

We don't need a "Safety Check" over here until your car is > 5 years old.

Could be a few wheels going astray based on your experiences.

I guess its easy enough to check, and possibly well worth doing.

I blame it on all the speed humps I have to go over...

mine had this fail, and sorted under warrenty about 6 months before the MOT, around 18,000 miles. only thing i had done on warranty, although its the first car in years to need anything under warranty at all.

Well, MOT/Service is tomorrow, i'll keep you all posted as to how things go, it was in literally a few months ago for the hubs to be changed, so i doubt the Ball joints gone... However fully expect even with mods if i was to fail ford should replace it under warranty, even with coilovers/alloys I don't see (Even after having spoken to a few people about this today), how this bal join could be down to mods unless you had majorly aggresive alignment, which, none of us do.

Failed.... and then passed it.

not on ball joint, not on emissions, not on indicators....

ON THE FUCKING HANDBRAKE LEVER TRAVEL! The handbrake that's looked like it was erect since i got the bloody car lol, cost me more to fix that than the MOT did!

I never did post my tracking results - I've given up trying to thumbnail this, the forum software keeps removing the link.

Just had my first MOT at Parks Inverness, no issues. They MOT'd it then did the third service.

My car passed has just passed the MOT but had an advisory on the left hand front upper control arm, so the Dealer ordered me a new one under warranty, the question is, will the dealer just replace the part, or will it need a geometry check as well. The car is lowered and has wheel spacers, and I've had it set up properly by a specialist as the tyres were wearing badly, to the tune of ÂŁ165, so I'm a little worried that the geometry might get set incorrectly i.e. set back to standard, if the dealer has to do it ?
