It's 20 degrees here this morning and I have no issues keeping the rear tires in check. Either you're harder on the gas than you think, or something is up. The tires become hard but they don't turn to glass. Even with TC off and track mode on it takes no effort to not spin the tires. Takes no thought whatsoever.

People need to stop with this summer tire in cold weather craze, they are certainly not ideal but it's not the apocalypse if you drive on them
I have a 2012 Premium with Pirelli P-Zeros and I can tell you that they are downright scary once the temps hit sub-30s with a little bit of moisture. They don't turn to glass...skateboard wheels soaked in oil might be a better description.

Marjen, that said it wouldn't hurt to take your car to the dealer to have them take a look.

+1

Still extremely anxious to get my summers off though (winter /all season tires on order), have already had one deer give me a brake check.

I hope you don't have what I experienced. Had a loose bolt. Do yourself a favor and do a vehicle health report with sync.
They had to replace 2 pieces of my suspension.
Is the vehicle health report a premium only feature?

The vehicle health report would not know that a bolt was loose on the suspension.

I believe whatever the report told him though made it clear something was wrong with his suspension..could be wrong I thought that was him who posted that.

if you have sync you can do a report. Have to register first. This is what showed in mine. I never saw the warning lights on dash.

No worky on base model GT according to Ford synch support, so I assume it doesn't work on any base model.

Thanks, I am assuming it's the tires then. Honestly did not know it had summer, thought they were all seasons.
If your car is just a premium and does not have the performance package then it probably does not have "Summer Only" tires. Unless they are the 20s previously mentioned.

Regardless of your driving technique, I'd be more worried about damaging the Summer only tires, than I would be about the available grip.... $1300 a set.

A buddy of mine wrecked his gt500 last winter not knowing what drivine in 35° weather was like on summer only tires. If you are going to drive it all winter and it gets under 40° on a regular basis don't chane it.CHANGE YOUR TIRES....

So, change your tires because you don't know how to drive in cold weather with summer tires? I've driven many of winters below 40 degrees with summer tires and never once had an issue on a few different cars. Hell, one winter I had two almost bald summer tires and drove in the snow. People just need to know how to drive is all. Just because you can afford a sports car doesn't make you a race car driver.
I agree, it's really not that bad.

But I can also attest to the slipperiness of the tires.

When I took delivery of my car, it had been 25-28 degrees , while it was sitting out there for 4 hours.

Couple that with high pressure dealer tires, brand new summers...Yeah, I got sideways a bit coming out of the dealership. I was pretty surprised.

I've got 150 miles on her now, and the tires seem to be doing much better. Although I still wouldn't push them , lest I end up like the GT500 guy last winter.

Just drive smart..don't be speed racer around the corners yet.
