Sorry to see this Andy
and i admire your calmness :)
but you must have a claim, you was told to park there, even if there was a sign about "Parking at Owners own risk" that is to do with cars being stolen or broken into. this damage was caused by people who put the fencing up at the track.
I would def phone them up. and also say you will go to the local press and all the groups on the web.
Why should you pay for something that is the circuit's fault ?

I think it also depends on whether the people who put the fencing up can say they did everything within reason to secure the fence, if a neighbour's fence blows down in a hurricane and damages your car, it's not their fault so you claim on your insurance.

I sort of agree Ben, and I'll ring them on Tues.....:) But if they're going to make life difficult and be a pain, I'll just get it sorted on my dime....

Or a get pit bull Manders on the case:D
Pit bulling this type of crap always works. To be fair, it should be covered on their insurance UNLESS there are signs that state it's left there are the owners risk. In which case you've got no leg to stand on.

Insurance should cover you for this (Filled/resprayed bumper and new stripe section) However, the cost of your insurance excess vs the cost to fix it is one for you to weigh up.

Anyway, less serious note, gutting this happened to you :(

Those signs don't absolve them of their responsibilities. You have a reasonable expectation that your car won't be hit by signs or fences, they have a duty not to hit your car when they have provided the car park. Their insurance should cover it. If not, small claims procedure will get you a result given the amount of evidence you have.

Both my car, and my wife's have been reversed in to or smacked in the past month. I used a local company and they charged ÂŁ180 and you'd never know; both were worse than that, and far lower than our excesses, so yeah, get on with it (it sucks, but it happens).

Fix it yourself. If you mention it to your insurance company you will be in for years of NCD and quotation hurt, same with court action misery. Chips Away or someone, job done in an hour or two, get on with your life.
Yup...
I agree... I'm going to remove the bumper today and take it over to my mate...

He'll have it done by Friday, and all will be well with the world:thumbsup:

Yeah and probably a hell of a lot cheaper and less hassle than dealing with the fkers. It's worth just mentioning it to donnington saying you have proof, provide them with your mates quote and see if they fork up.

Great advice.. Back in 2006, on Christmas day night, some asshole ran over the roof of my car and i went through the insurance as a no fault claim. For the following five years my insurance was loaded by around ÂŁ90 because I made a claim, even though I had protected NCB!!

I even had my insurance loaded on a motorcycle because of it!!

WTF :eyebulge:

FWIW years ago I had paint drip on the back of my car, underground car park for a flat I used to rent which had just been painted. Bloody stuff would not come off!

I put in a claim via my landlord - no dealings with my car insurance, and after a long wait, they agreed to pay me ÂŁ900 to cover the cost of the repair work.
Obviously I got a friend to polish it out for a much smaller fee & kept the cash  but I think you have a good case here to have them cover any repair costs.

Just had confirmation, that Donington Park's insurance company are happy to pay for the damage. And a cheque for the quote I sent in, is in the post to me :thumbsup:

Not even a week since the damage occurred, and a Bank Holiday in there, I have to say, great service all around:hail:
