First Service

The "first service" is literally a tire rotation and oil change plus inspecting things that you'd know, by now, are leaking or not working. You surprised the dealer because nobody gets a 10K service under the name "10K Service" they just go get an oil change because, by then, the car is demanding one.

Not convinced by that.
Are you actually saying they take the tyres off the wheels as you cant just w=swap the wheels round as they have a direction of rotation and they are different front to back arent they?

In my case I was told the first service is due after 1 year or 10,000 miles. I certainly didnt 'ask' for a 10k service.

Not sure if its the same over your side of the pond but certainly over here, if you ask 3 |Ford dealers the same question, you will get 3 different answers.

This is happening on a few. You can get it sorted under warranty. Do not pay a penny! Do not let them fool you into paying for this or a service.

Just called them and they knew all about it. Told me it was probably set wrong at the factory?

Just got car back after its first service.
Included oil change, so thats two oil changes it has had since new, one free and the other paid for.
Gotta say, despite the distaste towards dealers, I feel much happier having my car done there for peace of mind.

Went to Think Ford Guildford yesterday for the reset. Went away booked in for an oil and filter change under warranty, first week of August.

The boss said that if Ford won't pay for it, he will.

Wonder if the dealer will balk if i provide the oil for 1st service. Changed already at just shy of 5000 mile for Magnatec, don't want them putting bog standard Ford stuff in, i'd rather have Magnatec again.... should reduce the parts cost as well since they charge a bloody fortune for oil.
