I ran 285/35R19 with the Indys on a 9.5" wheel. That's the most I would do, even on 10" wheel. Putting a 305 or 325 on a 10" wheel is outside of what I'd call acceptable, even if the Indys run a little on the small side. 325 on an 11" wheel would be okay, 315 maybe perfect if Firestone made one. Personally I put safety and performance ahead of what the tire looks like. But if you can have the right look and the right fit then I guess it's a win-win.

Edit: And actually my new tires - BFGoodrich Sport Comp 2 AS I got 255/40R19 for that same 9.5" wheel. It not only looks great, but feels great too. Sure, I could have gone wider but this seems pretty perfect for a DD.

Please. So now you're calling me stupid? Sorry not all us dumbasses want a 10/10 tire/wheel.
No, just lacking knowledge about how tire physics works and remaining stubborn to it. Your picture of a way over-stretched tire that stance bro morons do is just the flip-side of a similar coin: Performance detriment for looks. The 325 on a 10" is not near as bad, but it remains a tire fitment that is below its capability due to the wheel it's mounted on.

Dude... look up the specs on Tire Rack for 325/30R19 Indy 500. The recommended rim width for this tire is 11-12", NOT 10". Your tire is about an inch too big for the wheel. I think what @BmacIL is trying to do is keep someone else from following what you have done. It's fine if you want to run a tire too big for the rim, but it's not good advice for anyone else following.

I have a 325 on a 10 inch wide wheel, but its 17x10 with 325 45r17 so theres quite a bit of sidewall and its a drag radial so they suck in corners anyway. Awesome straight line grip though. I like a bit of bulge so the wheel is protected. May try 275 50 17's next time though, lighter and I can run in bracket classes at my local 1/8th with 275s, I think thats their rule. M&H seem to run narrow for their stated size

Tall profile drag radial is a different story. They're designed to fit like that, although would be even better on a 17x10.5 ;-) (better directional stability during hard launch).

Well now I have some decisions to make. Was going to get a 19x10 square 285 setup with the indy 500s because I was disappointed that the next size was 325 and I can only get an 11" rear in the rim I want and I read that 325s don't fit an 11" rim....

So now it's 19x10 and 19x11 and permanently get 325s in the indy 500 for the rear or go 19x10 285s all around. I'm assuming a 285 indy 500 will be stretched too much on an 11" rim

Now I have to figure
I currently have 10/11 staggered and if I had to do it over I would go 10" square. Sure the staggered looks good, but I would rather be able to rotate them and I don't need such big tire in the back N/A. Not interested in buying 2 more rims though, so I will just run with what I got. I am glad I saw this thread though as I thought wildhorse had 11" on the back with the 325 in a previous thread. Knowing they are 10" makes me much more comfortable going with the Indys in a 325 on the back of mine.

Well I have time to think about it now. Was going to buy 10/11s a few nights ago until I discovered our dollar bottomed out and it was going to be an extra +$300 for the rims. I said forget it and I'll just wait.

I probably will go with 10/11s still though, N/A or not maximizing your traction in 1st/2nd on the street will always put a smile on your face and feel like you picked up 100hp. From what I read about the indy tread wear I will probably get 3 summers out of the rear. Plus.... The bigger the tire, the less spin, the less tire you leave on the road = more tire life

I just rotated my Firehawk's as I bought the front's 4 months prior to the 285/35/19's as I wanted to get more mileage out of my sets. I rarely launch the car hard enough to burn rubber but like the way they bark when I do a 2-3 powerslide entering a hwy from a chicane. These are great street tires when you mod the suspension properly and can drive it like an R/T car.
