I can drive both but prefer automatic. If your listening to anyone saying an automatic is any less of a car or your less of a driver if you have one. That means your still young, when you get older you could give a flying Fuk what anyone else thinks unless they are paying for your car or your married to them.

The auto in these cars is nice, I would like a bunch more gears for fuel savings but other then that it's a nice/responsive tranny. Yes a dual clutch is the best of both worlds but it would not be a smooth in traffic and would add cost to this set up I'm sure.

I could care less what anyone thinks if you are happy with your choice. What is annoying to me is that an Auto and Manual is not available on every performance level car (yes you Shelby, I would have bought one for sure)
I agree about the Shelby. If my '13 GT500 had a high performance auto it would be much more fun to drive and way faster. I doubt I could beat many cars off the line with my street tires even though I've replaced the crappy Goodyears with Michelins. With an auto it's much easier to launch.

Well picked up my '15 Guard Vert and this is an automatic. My last automatic was on a 2004 and this is light years better. I thought I would miss rolling through the gears but the driving experience is actually more relaxing. Love the way this car scoots along.

Left knee replacement......can still drive a manual, but really fancied an auto to make life easier....:headbang:

I'll let you know what it's like if I ever get my hands on the thing...:frusty::frusty::rant:
My knees suck & while it's a blast to drive a stick on the open road, it's (literally) painful in traffic. Besides wife never learned (in spite of repeated attempts by her sisters & myself) & while she typically does not drive any of "my cars" there are times when it comes in handy.
I bought my auto because I dislocated my knee and damaged it pretty good. It is only a matter of time before I will need surgery. An auto allows me the ability to drive my car versus sitting in the garage undrivable. Previously had a 2011 GT California Special manual. The fun factor is what you make it to be.
I am over 50 and my knees are tired.
I had a knee replacement 10 years ago and tried the manual in my `15 EB. I went back to the auto because the replacement knee couldn't deal with shifting.
2 knee surgeries, and to much stop and go traffic. Love manuals but hate knee pain.
I'm right there with all ya'll. I had two left knee surgeries, the latter being a total replacement. All but 2 of my previous 7 Mustangs were manuals, so I test drove a 6 spd. Test drive lasted about 10 minutes and that night, I had to ice my knee to reduce the swelling. I pretty much knew at that point I was going to need and auto. After owning an '03 Lightning, I knew the auto would work well, especially if I get the FI I want, and the paddle shifters could be used when driving in the mountains. Haven't regretted my decision once. The car is just a blast to drive and puts a smile on my face every time.

Just took ownership of a 2016 black gt auto, premium package with 3.55 gears. Went to auto because I already own a manual car (2010 camaro ss) and my clutch knee sometimes gives me issues (tendinitis) so I chose auto. Whenever I want to row gears, I'll take out the camaro. I have zero regrets on getting the auto mustang. Love it!

It goes both ways, there a ton of manual only talk threads and then auto guys come in and instigate the conversation.

Switched to Auto...

I traded in my 2010 manual for an automatic on the 2015. I had to drive quite a few times through Chicago from one end to another. Many times I was stuck in stop and go traffic...sometimes lasting two to three hours (trapped on freeway because of accidents). More than once I had to get out of the car because of leg cramps caused by having to shift every couple of car lengths for 50 miles!

I drive a car for work Approx 60,000 miles a year for 40 plus years. I love the Pony and enjoy driving it and do not need the work of clutching. Hey, no one bought the Pony for me and neither did any one for you. If someone want to pay my income taxes for me then I'll consider driving what they prefer I should Drive. Until then, it's my choice!
