The only thing I wish the auto had, was a button so ovoid rev without putting it in neutral (I think some Lamborghinis have this).

Is it bad to throw the car into neutral while driving to do a rev at 30mph? I'm afraid I'll accident ally put it in reverse.

I test drove a manual pp before I drove the auto. The manual had no clutch feel. The shifting did not feel smooth. I have owned 3 cars with manuals. A 3,4, and 5 speed and non felt as bad as this 6 speed.

The auto is smooth but too soft on shifts. The shift time from reverse to first is too slow. Normal mode gets me excellent mpg to work and back. Sport + feels like the car should shift. I have not tried the track mode out much. Plus using the shift select and the paddles is fun.

Because of Houston's vast network of bumper-to-bumper freeways...an automatic is more user friendly than a manual...

Creeping at 10 MPH for 30 minutes is no fun with a manual transmission...

Here's a photo of I10 that runs east/west through Houston!!!

What "other" people think or say should have ZERO affect on what you decide fits your style of driving/needs. You have a perfectly valid reason to go with the automatic. It is the same reason many of us went in that direction. RELAX, ENJOY DON'T LET THE HATERS GET TO YOU!!

That pic made me shudder at my old commute when I had to drive the stretch of that between 610 W and Downtown -_-
Now I only have to put up with traffic on 59 S and the bad part of Beltway 8. feels good man

I test drove both with about equal time. Originally I ordered the GT PP. Ultimately I ordered automatic. I could be happy either way, but there were more plusses with the auto:

Drive modes make it have multiple personalities
better DD and for vacations
remote start for hot or cold days
can't blow downshifts
better with cruise control
And the #1 reason was the bad reliability rep of the manual.

I think the drive modes and paddle shifters make it much more than what an automatic used to be.

My EB was a auto, my GT is a manual. Get what every you want and what fit's your needs/and or wants. No need to justify what you drive to anyone. They aren't making your car payments so it shouldn't matter what anyone thinks.

I'm buying a manual, in a convertible, but I don't have to do a daily driver, I work at home. This is also our "fun car", so I as someone who really enjoys rowing-the-gears (my last few cars have been manuals), I figured a manual would provide me the most positive driving experience [edit] Meant to add, I was also pretty enamored with the PP that's now available in convertibles, so that also meant a manual.

I'm in Florida too so no snow, no mountains, few hills - 90% of my driving is within about a 10-12 mile radius around the World HQ :)

If my circumstances were different, I'd certainly consider an automatic an option (our other ride, a T4R is an auto, it's the backup family car, beach ride, towing).

Holy smokes, I went and hid under the bed after I saw that. :D

I went with Auto because there was ever increasing traffic, and I spent most of my time putting the car in and out of gear.
Not to mention from what I read the Auto was running similar times.

Had manual trans on most of my cars growing up and loved it. Now I am like hey, this is nice, put it in gear and go!
