I personally prefer manual still, but I will admit my #1 gripe with other buying automatics means I have less selection when buying a used car - i.e. when I was looking at used Corvettes! lol

Because it's more fun and more cool to drive with two hands on the wheel instead of just one. :headbang::D;)

just like every auto thread, so much justifying your auto purchase to the manual counterparts.

whatever floats yall's boats but no need to justify it to anyone, they aren't making the payments.

You mean, kinda like exactly what the OP is asking for in the thread title itself, Khyber?

While I do think a lot of folks may have preferred a stick, the numbers available out there are skewed to automatics anyway. When I bought my "11 Vert, only 7 percent of all V6s had sticks. While the 6 speed has its problems and there are days I wish I had an automatic (like after my open heart surgery), I still could not see me driving one. Most of the problems went away when I put in the MGW shifter. Just be happy with your choices

Auto can be driven by my wife, it's faster, and no reason to manually shift.

I had an mt-82 in my 2014 and I really didn't like it. The paddle shifters in the 2015 are awesome and sport+ and track mode make up for not having a manual..... plus it is much more consistent timewise...

my point with the joker gif as the first response. lol

it's no different than the why i got a v6/eco over the v8 or why i got the v8 over the v6/eco threads.

or i have a whipple instead of roush or i have a roush instead of wipple lol

Khyber, I think there is a small difference, at least. He invited other auto drivers to respond (implying intent to avoid us-vs-them bickering).

It could be he is doubting his choice, and is conducting his own Pros vs Cons survey. Who knows?
We can let the thread wander as it will. So far, there hasn't been any bickering or bashing.

No need for snarky posts, pictures of popcorn, etc, IMHO.

Our two previous mustangs and focus st were manual. Had no problems with the mt82 in either one. Wife was tired of changing gears. That's why.

Manual shifting isnt what it used to be.With the hydraulic clutch and the throttle by wire you just dont get the feel that cars had without these things.Plus coming out of the hole is inconsistent and easy to break things.
My '13 GT500 is of course manual.I think it would be better, faster, and more fun with an auto.very few hi-end performance cars even offer the manual.
The auto is of course faster. It does cost over a $1000 more though, which doesnt make sense. The clutch set-up, extra pedal, and increased warranty costs have to be higher in the manual.

Because both me and my wife drag race and its easier and much more durable than the manual.
