The nasty roar of a big FE at full song. Nothing quite like it in the automotive world. Think 427SC Cobra, just awesome. But we are talking about Mustangs. The Coyote and Voodoo are too raspy at high RPM.

So we are in agreement, the sound of the Predator during downshifts.

Hard to choose. I can narrow it down to 2. 1966 289 with 1970 351 Windsor heads screaming at 7500 RPMs or 1969 428 SCJ with dual quads rough idle.

It's gotta be the VooDoo.................

Why was the Vette hitting his brakes so much? Did he have an automatic? Sounds like you were in control with downshifting. You could have buried him if it were only the two of you.

I am split between downshifting while going in tunnel or under and overpass, or
When I accelerate on 1 or 2nd gear, don't upshift, and as it does engine breaking, you hear the subtle pops (not like those loud ratatata that you hear from bmws bouncing their engines on their rev limiters).

Btw, it's a gen3 coyote

My favorite sound is downshifting the Coyote Engine in a tunnel...the sound is incredible and it definitely wakes anyone else around up.
I'm in Florida... Nothing but straight and flat down here. I was playing a bit with another GT, coming down a 3 lane strip close to an I-95 overpass. We got neck and neck coming up to the bridge. In the other lane was a couple of older dudes in an Audi convertable, with the top down. 😂😂 We both punched it going under the overpass, those two dudes both ducked because it sounded like a Jet and they didn't know what was happening...😂😂 I laughed so freaking hard. Good times.

My Coyote with active exhaust in sport mode. A sound for the ages.
Same here, but with the Bullitt and track mode for exhaust.

My "My Mode" is basically a normal mode with just the exhaust on "track." Daily. LOVE IT.

I think the Bullitt exhausts are teeny bit differently tuned. It was literally THE reason that went from hesitation to "where do I sign" after hearing it cold start.

The 2v 4.6 is the best sounding Mustang IMO. She may not be the fastest, but she makes an instantly recognizable sound that can be distinguished blocks away without fault.
