FWIW, the second article you linked to is the real deal. That is the word in the "automotive forecasting" world.

351 Cleveland is an awesome engine. One of the best ever.

And although the '71 Mustang was too big IMO it did still look good. And I wouldn't mind if the new Mustang weighed about what the '71 did (3,200 - 3,400 lbs).

LOL my 1st car was a '73 Mach1 351c 2bbl ... I loved it, but that car was a fucking death trap. the brakes were near useless and it would just randomly try to swap ends while cruising if the road was wet.
