I'm all for for them as long as the aesthetics are done properly. And they usually are these days. They're also extremely common in higher end offerings.People complain about fake tips, but they make complete sense. Exhausts are hot and they vibrate. Managing big tips in the rear fascia is a pain.
An internal exhaust with a surround solves both the heat problem and allows for exhaust vibration inside the tips.
Exhaust tips are cosmetic anyway. Who cares if they are welded on the pipe or not?
