I have a pmas intake with the 2018 intake manifold. That's really it for emissions mods other than that I have a catback. I

Well after about a month and almost 500 miles on the mustang the tuner cannot help me. He cannot get the rear sensor to read. 3 out of 4 sensors will read. He says the cats aren’t getting hot enough. I mentioned spacers or defoulers and he doesn’t think it will work. I will take it to another tuner in manassas that specifically does mustangs. What a frustrating experience.

You guys that live in counties that don’t require emissions you are very lucky. I’m one county too far up north 🤦🏽‍♂️

Not sure. I will ask him when I pick it up tomorrow. He just told me they keep playing around with the numbers and couldn’t get it to go ready.

Just tell him to drop and the stock tune, do the Ford reset procedure and I'm 99.9% sure you'll be good to go.

Just so I’m clear. Do this for the purpose of passing emissions. Once I pass then flash it back to whatever performance tune I was using ?

Ya man. Can't beat the stock tune when it comes to emissions.
EDIT: You have aftermarket cats right ? Well you should be OK, as long as the rear o2's are 100% functional.

Yes I have aftermarket cats. I have stainless power catted headers paired up with solo Mach thunder exhaust.

WildHorse is on point. Stock OEM program will get the car to pass.
If the rear O2's set a DTC you'll need 90 deg. extenders with the proper orifice installed. There's a few recent threads on M6G discussing the 90 deg. rear extension and what orifice is best.
If the shop has had your car for a month and hasn't figured this out you need a new shop.
There's nothing hard about any of this.

I feel for you guys, one of the reasons I went with the Ford Racing Power kit. I got full readiness with in 50 miles other than EVAP as the car had a full tank of fuel. Once it fell to 3/4 of a tank even that went ready.

I’m here at the shop picking it up now. He’s saying the 02 sensors never get hot enough to read. He flashed it to stock. Still won’t read. He says he needs it to get to 800 degrees. He believes the cold weather isn’t helping 🤷🏾‍♂️. So yea I might try a different shop like you guys are suggesting. Or I might go to the DMV and switch garage location. They are telling me that even though they took away that option online you can do it in person 🤷🏾‍♂️. He also suggested putting stock cats on for inspection and then just taking them off after. I’m 2 months expired on my plates because of this non sense.
