i prefer everything blacked out lol i have my tail lights painted. still plenty bright.
When you hit the brakes, they light up no differently than stock. Maybe just a tad dimmer, but not much at all. At night with lights on, you can’t tell they’re painted/covered. Mine are plastic covers.

Everyone needs to admit, s550 brake lights blind you when stock. Just stand behind it at night and hit the lock button on the remote, you'll see. My drive way is almost 1000 ft long, and they light up my entire house that can be seen from the gate. I would guess on straight, they can be seen from at least 1-2 miles away. 1 mile = 5280 feet.
So pulling the RCW in my state (which is probably one of the more stricter in the country) tail lights need to be seen from 1000ft or less.
So, I’m over 5 times as bright as what is required by law.
It’s not worth arguing over. They are fine, they are bright, and no lawyer would take the case, given the facts.
