I'll probably get lots of flack on this but here goes. I've been looking at exterior mods for quite awhile. Trying to convince myself that perhaps a Foose rear wing would enhance the back end. But given the cost I just don't see enough "enhancement" to pull the trigger. The tack on stuff, side louvers, side scoops, hood scoops I guess are a matter of taste. Like a wise man once said-If you want a Shelby GT 350 save up and get one. That said, I do like some of the aftermarket grills and lower air dams. Blacking out the chrome pony in the grill is a heck of a lot more efficient than dropping $400-$700 plus paying to have an aftermarket grill installed. As far as aggressive air dams go, they look great but on a DD they usually meet an immovable object. Where am I going with all this? I guess I'll focus on power performance mods as soon as the warranty expires. The interior could use some attention as well.

I'm all about appearance mods. In stock form the GT is respectable and can beat 90% of what's on the road. I also don't want to mess with the power train warranty. Now all the Mustangs look the same except for those subtle differences that only mustang owners would recognize. And there is certainly no shortages of S550s on the road.

I like mine to stand apart from the pack. I added wheels/tires and tires for differentiation. Also dropped it. Picked up a GT350 spoiler that needs paint. I just ordered the Roush fascia as well and got an amazing deal on that. Mine doesn't look like your standard issue mustang.

I think to each his/her own. I think many of us aren't looking to copy a GT350, just make our cars stand out from the pack. Side scoops, spoilers, grilles, wheels/tires etc. have always been a part of this hobby and don't always need to be functional. Stripes, window tint, or paying homage to a specialty Mustang isn't blasphemy either. It's what you like, what make you feel good when you take ten steps away from your car and look back in a driveway or parking space. The performance of these cars is amazing right out of the box, even my V6 is faster and performs better than stock GT's from the 70's thru the previous incarnation. Enhancements that are only cosmetic are just as important to many owners as suspension, engine and drivetrain mods are to others. It's just my opinion of course but that's how I see it and I'm one who enjoys looking at many of the cosmetic and functional mods on this site. It's all part of the hobby :)

Same reason I refuse to lower my GT Perf; If I went down .5" I would hit 90% of the curbs I frequent.
