Bigger is not better, exhaust is all about velocity to pull spent gases from the cylinder during the exhaust stroke a larger pipe slows down the velocity and will rob you of power. Borla knows this, that is why they have more wins in professional racing than all the other exhaust manufactures combined.
Okay, but all of Borla branded systems for the 2018+ are 3" systems except the Touring.

The velocity matters until you hit a muffler or cat. If headers it matters till you exit the collector.

The 2.5 system will be quieter.

Yeah that's kinda the idea behind the Touring system. But the racing applications referenced are certainly 3".

So if yall had my setup which would you buy? I worry the touring will have the same tone but quieter. I’m so tired of my Mustang just sounding like a typical raspy Mustang that’s loud haha. First world problems to the max

Hey everyone! First time post,
I have a 22 GT PP @sloww5ohh on instagram.
-
Currently have a custom valved exhaust with a custom x pipe + Corsa Catless Headers
This setup has good volume but to be completely honest I really dislike the tone. I know the coyote is raspy but I see and hear so many with deeper tones that have that iconic mustang sound. I know the Catless headers must have something to do with this, but I was wondering what you guys think I should do?
-
would a h-pipe solve the problem? Should I go a AWE exhaust with a h-pipe? Resonators? Borla?
-
for context I had Corsa Extremes with the Corsa Catless headers prior and it was just wayyyyy to loud for the street and my neighbours lol.
-
Thanks!
you do follow me! Thx for the follow! Trying to grow my car page to new heights given that Canada needs a much better car culture haha
you should go with what im doing and I am going to get the mach 1 exhaust active into a x pipe w catless long tubes. they sound great and I saw one in person and fell in love with it. I have roush exhaust rn and I understand your fustration but at high rpms sounds amazing

I got confirmation with a Borla tech, that their resonator has packing. He didn't know about the Ford Performance by Borla resonator, but he did give me the contact info for the person that should know. I will also find out if the two have the same dimensions.
