Parts are in the mail. Any reason to add any h pipes between other than the stainlessbros?

went through the thread, h pipe crossover upstream of the stainless bros to reduce db and packing wear, will do; how about another downstream?

@andrewtac i think one H upstream of the stainlessbros is sufficient.
Thanks, and thanks for this thread; was going to wait for the motor but this might help me accidentally sneak into the 8s.

Crossover pipes on an s550 are mostly for sound, reason is for packaging purposes the location is too far back to offer any real scavenging.

Anyone have a view on what offers more sound reduction - Vibrant 1794s or Stainless brothers bullet resonators? They're both 12" long, ~4" body resonators. I'd like significant sound reduction in a tight package if possible.

It may be some time before I get to it but I'm going to try this setup in between 1 7/8 Kooks and my Borla S-type. Ebay X section that seems decent and a nice open design (about $30) and the Total flow mini mufflers front and rear. I really want to make the sound level "reasonable" so I'm ready to add mufflers in rear s-type section if necessary. I will consider adding a bung for pressure testing aft of this section. I'd be able to use my wideband bung section upstream of this. I plan to run FBO NA first and then about 13psi of P1X.

I had previously run a Magnaflow 12469 muffler in place of the Borla X section but it was quite bulky and hung too low.

Those stamped x pipes don't flow very well just create turbulence.

I could also just use the stock S-type X-section. Was just trying not to hack up the Borla piece as I'll need to shorten it to fit the mini mufflers.

I'm fine to try an H as well.

Done, 3" from the headers back, h pipe then SB resonator, corsa active mufflers. It is raining, so no driving. Thanks for doing the research and finding the answers for me.

Unfortunately the rain is here for a few days and won't be able to drive.

Skies cleared. The sound is what I have been searching for. Queit mode is indeed quieter than the factory style AE with a mangaflow Tru x, and it sounds good not just muffled. And the track mode is ridiculous, crazy loud. However, just crusing it is mellow. In the cabin in all modes, no drone. I think it is actually quieter in the cabin in all modes except when getting on it. Thanks again for all your research, probably one of the few modes I've done where I'll spend the money once.
