Exhaust clamp question

I have a corsa exhaust. I have noticed my exhaust condensate drip from H pipe into the exhaust has began to get worse. I crawled under the car to tighten the clamps just to discover the clamps are bottomed out and can’t be tightened anymore. Has anyone else noticed this problem? I’m looking at two different replacements clamps,

How did they get bottomed out? Have you re-tightended them a few times... are you using an impact driver?

Having clamped more than my fair share of systems.

The second picture, (lap clamp) I hate them. Depending on where the joint will be located plays a role in how well they work. They dont do the best job of firmly gripping the pipe. Allowing the pipe to rotate, and slip around when leverage is applied. The inside of those clamps are as smooth as ceramic, and they are as thin as construction paper.(Some exhaust cement/sealer can help this...but I hate that shit too)

If I need to clamp because I'm To lazy to bust out the welder, I usually grab a steel joint from the auto store and use the first set of clamps.

leaking some condensation around the mid pipe joint isn't the worst thing in the world. The joints create ridges that trap some water. Almost all clamped system will drop a little. Only sure way to avoid is to weld.

Other experience may differ.

impact yes. And they have only Been off to install my headers

wonder if you could make shims out of a short piece of pipe? A inch or two length cut long ways into two 'C' shapes could slip between exhaust pipe and clamp to allow a little more tighten up. A cheap, fast, easy alternative to clamp replacement or at least a stop leaking solution until something better is done.
