I know that MPH can be a good indicator of horsepower but at what point do both ET and MPH level out?

Last night went to the strip and only goal was get some good WOT data logs for my tuning of my P1X install. I knew my ET was going to be horrendous being on my thrashed Pirelli’s. Knowing traction was going to be useless I started rolling out in first pedaling it through rpm range and then shifted in to 3rd knowing 2nd would be useless as well. Car went pretty straight soft shifted to 4th and rode it out. Results a whopping 14.1 but @ almost 126mph.

With that when I do actually get a better tire and the ET’s drop how much more MPH would you speculate? Back to when do ET and MPH reach a leveling point? Thanks for the input.

A lot of people will claim only mph is good indicator of power, BUT et plays a huge role in mph. So if you spin on the line, or like your case baby the shit out of it mph will suffer big time. Think about it. By not applying maximum acceleration you are effectively shortening the race track. Our small tire heads-up car if the 60' goes from say 1.11 to 1.15 it will lose 3-4 mph on the exact same top end tune.

You have to run hard early to run big mph. Given how soft you were and skipping 2nd and soft otherwise with a manual I'd say 126 is pretty damn decent. I trapped best of 139.** spinning lightly in 1st, and heavily in second with an auto. P1X on E85. Abysmal 1.52 60' or something like that, but the most spinning was 2nd gear right after the 60' blocks.

With that 2.7 sixty. Its impossible to guess what the car will run with traction.

Car picked up almost 40mph in the second half and I imagine there is alot more in it.

Probably the worst 60' I have ever seen...lol

Yeah wasn’t caring about any of that. Was thinking some data logging on the track versus Mexico was a safer bet. Until I got the car sideways at 60mph on the second run. After I unclenched my ass cheeks at gotten straightened out still trapped 122mph.

As said , you can't extrapolate any useful data out of a pass where you baby the car for 330' or more. Go back with a proper tire.

Totally I agree. Hope to do that soon. But consensus seems I’d see a little more MPH. That’s cool

I'd suggest running bias ply slicks since your a manual car. Looking into my crystal ball, I'm wishing you a 10.99 @ 133 mph!:like:

Yeah a kid at work said I can give his bias plys a try. And that prediction sounds good to me.

I'm looking to make my first pass since installing the 2300 e-force. With the e-force 93 tune I don't think 10's are in my future for the fall but hopefully after a tune plus upgrades I'll break into the 10's come spring. Good luck at the track, your blower was my choice if I would of went with a centri. Good thread, Maybe we can compare results over the next year or so.

Lol. Last night I was hitting 2.5 60' on 14 PSI on E85 while getting some datalogging in. I was on Indy500s set to 20 psi and even though the track had good prep it just can't launch in 1st gear with the 3.73s and shitbox tires. The shitbox MT-82 decided it didnt want to go into 3rd gear half the runs and still was consistent 12.0. Worked out great for running the 12.00 index as I would trap 130 and run 12.0 to 12.05 consistently, but the 3.73 and that extra shift to 5th costs time. However, it is fun to drive around people the last 1/8 like they are pulling a parachute. Slicks are back in the future once the divorce is over. It was pretty evident when a 2018 stick air intake, exhaust and tune on bias ply slicks hit 1.5 60s all night. I was pulling had on a Zl1 after i got past the 1/8th and out trapped him by 8 mph. We left and did some rolls on the street from 2nd and 3rd gear and even with him jumping I ate his lunch.
