Engine hissing and shaking

I don’t know if these are two different issues or one but At first my engine would increase and decrease in RPM when I was idling usually at a red light it didn’t happen every time so it wasn’t of much concern till today where I was at a red light it started to go up and down in RPM this time it lasted longer and the engine was shaking the entire time and then it stalled out and I had to turn the car on and off in the middle of the road then when I got home I open the engine bay to see if anything looked wrong I resat the air intake box and air filter to make sure it was sealed right but I couldn’t help but notice a hissing sound near the intake manifold I took the cover over and wasn’t able to find anything the hissing increases when I tap the throttle I have video I would really appreciate it if someone could help me I don’t have the money to take it to ford and would like to learn more about my car Thank you! If it keeps going rough and stalling its probably the VCT solenoids. Take to dealer to have them diagnose for free and probably repair for free..

I had this problem and vct solenoids fixed it. The hissing/zap sound is normal I think its the HPFP.

I haven't seen a DI in person and paid that much attention, so no clue on how loud the injection pump is. BUT sounds to me like a ferocious vacuum leak, which would make it run rough etc.

none at all I even ran all test on forscan no errors

OP My 16' sounds exactly the same in the exact same location. I too have checked all hoses and intake related pieces to no avail. I also have no CEL's or stored CEL's on my scanner. I have had a couple instances like you where at a red light the rpms would slowly climb with engine speed without any throttle input. I would blip the throttle and it went back to normal. But this has happened so rarely over the period I never got excited about it. The car has felt down on power for a long time. Maybe it's normal but it sounds otherwise. I have also noticed when going WOT there is a huge air sucking sound coming from engine. My car is stock btw. It's been this was for over two years.

cracked intake manifold? i think there were a few that noticed some rough idle and dying with that problem. just a guess

Took it to ford cause i finally got a check engine light I read the code and it was a Catalytic converter went to ford they replaced it for free as it was a tsb and Im still getting rough idle and shaking and the hissing first ford told me it was the brake booster vacuum line replaced that as well and the problem still occurs i still have no idea what it could be
