Hey Demon - Sorry to see and hear about the trouble you're having here! This is the 2nd time that this has popped up in the past week and there's a really quick fix for this! Can you please shoot me a PM with your last ticket/order number and I'll personally see to it that we have a revision shot over and on your car by this evening!

Alex
Thanks Alex! I'll be sending you a PM shortly.

Alex, can you share with the rest of the group the details on what you think the problem / fix is?

Hey Demon!

I just wanted to throw an update in here for anyone that's following along. I can see that you're working with Paul on this and I'm attached to your tickets. This is definitely on the weird side and I'll be honest that I've heard this happening with brand new cars!

It's really on the odd side that this would again just start to happen after the tune being on the car for 5 weeks. Paul and the Bama Performance Team is going to make a few tweaks to your tune and we'll go from there!

Keep us in the loop if you're to have any other questions in the meantime!

Hey Alex,

Thanks for forwarding my message initially to Paul. He was able to sent me a revised tune and we discussed that the issue is probably not tune related but I'm still going to test the car on the 91-Performance V2 Tune and drive it for a little while to see if I notice anything strange. So far everything seems good. I'll give it the same time frame for testing as the gap between the 1st and 2nd incident (about 1 - 1.5 months). Then I will send an e-mail to get the 93 - Track V2 and 93 - Performance V2 tune. Thanks again to you and Paul for the help!

My car is still on the stock time and did the EXACT same thing a total of 3 times. I was thinking maybe a fault with the factory tune when the RPMs drop down to idle but if yours was tunes and doing this I'm hoping there will be a TSB out soon to address this.

This whole 'missing parameters' thing is being blown out of proportion. The X4 has been out a while and has tuned countless Mustangs without issue. The difference is in the tune itself. A few auto-trans guys might have a more difficult time getting their cars tuned perfectly, but stalling isn't because of the SCT device.
Agreed 100 percent ive been tuned with an x4 and o issues, the only parameters not out yet are for the auto cars and all tuners are catching up with them

Hey Demon,
I had a similar experience with the car dying immediately after installing a BAMA tune. No check engine light and I would just push start again and cranks right back on. The first time I called in December, they said they never heard of this issue before and none reported so advised me to drive it around and see if it happens again. 100 or so miles later, the car dies again. It seems like the car dies twice after each tune upload and then seems to work fine. Maybe I just didn't give it enough time before it died again before I call BAMA. The engine dying only happens with clutch disengaged and coasting to a stop. Called BAMA a second time and they had me do a datalog and sent me new tunes. Dying happened again with the same scenario of coasting to a stop-twice. From my experience, the stalling only happens on my car with clutch disengage and coasting. Notified BAMA and they wanted me to datalog to see if I can catch the car acting up. I didn't have the time to datalog every time I get in the car especially when the car isn't my daily driver. So I just left it alone then as I have been doing a lot of air traveling. Now that I am back home I'll be using the car more to further diagnose this issue.

I don't think it's SCT either as I have not seen any other SCT users with a different branded tuning with similar issues. I just happened to come across this thread and we both have BAMA tunes with the dying issues.

I agree something in the tune or something with the car itself.Easy to find out though like other members stated put the stock tune back in and see if it dies,if not its the tune.

Yessir my car would die while doing the exact same thing and has happened twice so far (clutch disengaged and coasting). I did datalog my car and got a revision and so far the car has been fine. The gap between each incident was about 1-1.5 months so I'm going to give it some time and test the car out on the current tune. If you can catch the problem on a datalog that would be great and would help in diagnosing the problem even further. I feel like it's harder to do that because of how randomly it has happened. If you do get a chance to datalog it and get in touch with Bama please share your fndings it would be much appreciated :).

I would have to put the stock air box on as the car wouldn't run properly on a stock tune with the JLT air intake. However, there are one or 2 members that have reported the same issue on their bone stock cars (no mods and factory tune). This has got me thinking even more but I can't seem to pin point what the problem could be.

Someone else has reported the same problem on their factory tune as well. Hopefully we can find a fix for this soon especially since more people are starting to experience the same problem.

That would be me. I posted on the first page of this thread and even made a separate thread when it happened. My car is stock and about a month and a half ago the engine stalled at/near idle as I was turning into a shopping center (went over a small bump). The local dealer spent two hours driving and checking the car. No codes, mixtures were good, battery was good...etc. It's gonna take some clever diagnostics to figure this out as it appears to be very random and impossible to reproduce.

I'll chime in as well. My car has died twice since I picked it up in October. Both times I was coming to a stop light, had the clutch engaged and the car in neutral. Doesn't sputter or anything, it just dies quietly. No CELs, nothing. Restarts with no issue. Again, it has done this twice in 5 months. Factory tune, only mod is a SW catback.

Definitely looks like a fault from factory then based people with no mods experiencing the same thing. As to what the actual cause of the problem is, still remains a mystery. Hopefully someone can catch it on a datalog to help in diagnosing the problem which seems almost impossible at this point.
