Enclosed Trailer & Towing Help

Gonna have to join in the fun here and look into camera systems.

Thanks to COVID I spent very little time driving my 2020 Explorer ST and had the opportunity to get out of my lease early with positive equity.

Pulled the trigger on a 2020 F150 Platinum over the Labor Day weekend with max tow package and am very happy with it. Towing capacity on my config with 3.5 Ecoboost is a healthy 12,700lbs.

I was planning on towing with my wife’s Denali XL but this should do much better.

In a couple of weeks I’ll be picking up my 22’ Jimglo Enclosed trailer I ordered in January.(COVID production issues just like the car, lol)

But now I have the car, the truck, and soon the trailer. I love it when a plan comes together.

My trailer mods finished last week. I have complained about the escape door since I purchased my trailer. The bottom was not low enough for the cars and not tall enough for my bronco.

We fixed it for the cars.

How wide and how did you fab your raised runners

15" wide approx 6.5" tall.

Had a friend who is a cabinet maker help. We spent about 2 hrs measuring and drawing the design. As I am an engineer and his cabinet skills with wood, we came up with a design at the dove tail. He went an purchased all the wood and had the long runners done in a day.

The following Friday afternoon I took trailer to his work shop and we fabricated the transition. There was some "tweaking" on the transition.

For a short fat guy, the escape door is nice. Now I dont have to worry about a belt buckle or metal on pants scratching the car as my fat a$$ slides down the side of the car!!

I have only used it once when I took the picture, but going to track next weekend so it will be tested.

Track day on Saturday and Sunday and Tuesday picked up the trailer from Arizona and drove it home. Looking forward to using this trailer!

22' JimGlo Elite

Includes a hydraulic jack.

Inside is a tire rack, cabinets, winch, built in lighting, track floor system, LED lighting along the roof and in the floor, and built in extensions for the entry ramp to ease angle of entry so no race ramps will be required.

Now to settle on a wireless camera setting! Towed it home without mirror extensions, those are currently inbound. But do want a wireless camera for rear view and parking / backing.

Does your truck have a trailer brake controller?

It does.

It’s an F150 platinum with the max trailer tow package which includes brake controller integrated, backup assist, and some other tow things.

Towing capacity as configure is a little over 12K lbs

I'm considering selling my 2017 26' Rail Ryder Equipped InTech Trailer. This
trailer has been used very little. The Rail Ryder system is IMO the best way to
load and unload a car in an enclosed trailer, but it is not inexpensive.

I bought this trailer from the original owner, these photos are from the original
owner.

Here is one more photo, which shows the inside with the cabinets and
work area at the front. There is also a canopy on it, really good lighting
and side turn signals that are over the wheels, which help a lot.

This is a really nice trailer.
