Hello all. Old to the site but new to this page. Believe I’ve finally found my CFTP car. I have an Intech enclosed and MAC wheel padded wheel straps. I’ve seen the undercarriage M-1700 straps which look to be the best strapping option but not sure I can get them in time to go get the car. I have the entire tire straps as an option with the MAC’s system but they are a true PITA. My question is if the wheel straps are clean will they scuff the wheels in any way? Maybe tire straps on front due to the nonexistent space between the calipers and wheels? Wheel straps on the rear? Just totally unfamiliar with the characteristics of the fiber wheels. Thanks.

There are some that are comfortable going through the carbon fiber wheels. I myself am not one of them. The Ford chassis strap points are a much better option in my opinion. I have them on both my reg 350 and my R. I have an ATC trailer and as long as the ramp extension is, I still need ramp extensions so the splitter doesn’t hit. Hope it works out of the CFTP!

@Goose17 trailers his CFTP often so he’ll have some good answers for ya
Thanks for the shoutout Brian!

Yes, I trailer my CFTP a lot! I just did it again yesterday for another track day. I used to run straps through the wheels… it wasn’t an issue as I used protective towels to prevent any marring. I have since added e-Track and go over the top of the tires. I much prefer this setup.

Also, these cars are LOW! I bought trailer Race Ramps to keep from scraping the splitter. They work like a charm!

Thanks for the info. I’ve got the Mac padded wheel straps and even then wrapped them in a microfiber towel on my old car. Good to know I can use them if needed.

You need these J-hooks from Mac.

On either side of the car inside the wheels are ford tie down locations that the J-hook fits in. Mac made me a pair on straps with the J-hooks.
For the rear I purchased the ford tie down hooks.

The ford hooks are for both front and rear. So if you can’t get the J-hooks from Mac get the ford tie down hooks or both.

do you have any pics or is there a video of where to find the tie down locations on the frame?

Everyone is spot on with their ideas on this. Using the wheels as mount lint is fine but use something to protect the wheels. Those J hooks will hook directly to the frame. And the Ford mounting brackets work great. That’s what I use now on my new Futura trailer. Those over the tire ones are amazing but there isn’t much room between the fender and the wheel up front so that’s why I don’t use those.

if you’d like I’ll be happy to drive your car home for you.

I have 4 of these that make over the top of the tire possible with these low cars:

Those are great but won’t work with the futura. That’s okay, I have a method.

Used the M-1700 brackets. Put all 4 tires up on 4” rubber ramps they had at the dealership. Installed all 4 myself in about 15 minutes. Could have done it without the ramps but it would be a squeeze. Brackets worked great with the longer MAC straps that come with the over the wheel set. Luckily I had thrown the over the wheel set in the trailer before leaving. Straps are about 3’ longer with these which is necessary due to the bracket locations (behind front tires, in front of rear tires)
