I finally bought a Kranzle for my guys in the shop.
Definitely one of my best purchases, Cam, and I totally agree.

I've been using CG's Snow Foam for some time and have been happy with it. But, I'm going to try one of DB's recommendations when it runs out.

It's been SO hot here for what seems like forever plus the big deck project and my poor, neglected DD was pretty darn dirty so I got out the gear and gave her a bath.

The photo was taken ten minutes after foaming. Probably took the better part of an hour to clean just the wheels and tires but I got it done.

Blew her off and put her back in the garage, then pulled Sarah back in, too. Today I plan to give her a topping of something, I just haven't decided which one.

How do you get all the water out of these, so in winter below freezing temps don't kill it.
Might be a stupid question but I've never used anything but the coin op. car wash sprayer.

After you have finished, turn off and remove the water supply hose, pull the trigger and pump the remaining water from the system. Normally, this would be a no-no for pressure washers, but Kranzle's have been designed to do that.

I’m quite lucky in that mine will self drain.

I have a drive that runs slightly down hill and a 15 meter (50ft) hose.

When I finish I turn everything off and run the pressure hose down the drive (also makes it easy to wind up).

I press the gun to depressurise the system, and then disconnect and store the gun.

When I disconnect the inlet hose, I immediately hear it suck air as the length of the hose down the drive starts to drain and syphon the system.

By the time I have wound the hose up, it’s pretty much empty, at least enough to have ran the pump and most of the hose completely dry.

I could store it in a,basement. But in the shed beside the garage would be ideal. I'd think blowing out the water with compressed air would harm it or running without water killing the pump.

Here's the hot tip for your pressure washer...Pump Saver. I found this stuff recently and a couple squirts will push most of the water out of the hose as well as putting some lubrication and corrosion protection inside the pump.

If you use QC connectors, you'll have to screw one on the pump saver fitting.

Initially, I was going to start a new thread but saw the PW foaming post and figured it was on topic.

The wife's vehicle was filthy while the 500 and the pickup were just previously cleaned so I got after it. Like D, I used a Kranzle 1122TST and CG's Snow Foam. I have been using SF since I bought the '20 and have been happy with the results. I do use Lift and OG's Decon when I really want to get down to the clear coat but for normal washes, SF works for me.

After the wash, I elected to do the interior and I'll give her a shot of Bead Maker or one of the many topper coats I have on the shelf today. <grin> I'll post a finished photo tomorrow.

The vehicle got ceramic back in '20 and from the looks of the beading, it is nearing time to re-polish and re-coat. I'll let things cool down a bit more before I do. You can see a couple places where it's starting to sheet.

Rag: I think I mentioned Pump Saver previously. One or two squirts and not only does that remove the water from the pump, it also lubricates it and provides corrosion resistance. I use it after every wash.

We rarely see below freezing and it never gets below forty in the garage so I don't worry about water in the hoses but I definitely believe Pump Saver is good for the pump.

On another subject..

D: I think I brought this up before but I have three Mercury sprayers that don't spray. I've soaked them in numerous decon products but to no avail.

So I'm wondering, can they be disassembled? If so, I haven't figured it out. I'm hesitant to throw them out but since I have numerous others just like them, I haven't yet hoping they can be revived and you are the ONLY person I know who might have the answer. <smiling>

The only parts that can be removed would be the pickup tube from the sprayer body, and weighted filter on the end of that tube. I would actually remove the filter and see if it will spray then. I have had a weighted filter block up internally and prevent spraying on another, non-Kwazar sprayer before.

Otherwise, you can get replacement heads for about half the price of the whole sprayer unit, although I can't see them listed for sale in the US, so you need to import them.

Finally found the time to finish the wife's vehicle. BUT, when I opened the hood to have easier access to the black plastic below the windshield, I saw this:

I knew it was dirty but I didn't think it was THAT dirty, HS! Of course, the OCD kicked in and I suspended the Bead Maker process and got out the Kranzle. Covered all the electrical junctions with aluminum foil then sprayed her down with APC and spent the next hour or more with a large detailing brush to get all the nooks and crannies.

Used the PW to surgically rinse everything in bursts, blew her off with the Master Blaster and then
gave all the rubber and vinyl parts a shot of 303. The result was most acceptable.

Finished the rest of her with Bead Maker and pulled her out for a photo.

Sadly, I had the filter and cap off and still get no spray on three of them. I'll look into the heads or just order a couple three more.

Thanks, amigo.
Have you tried the Pressol alternative, these are dual-action sprayers like the Kwazar. I think the Kwazar's feel more solid, but you can replace parts on the Pressol if/when they fail.

Much better! :like:

Interesting to see the cast-alloy shock towers on the Cadillac, similar to our burgundy luxo, the Jaaaaag.

Actually, I have, D and I wasn't impressed. The dual action messes with my brain on the back stroke which doesn't happen with the Mercury sprayers so I quit using them after the first try.

That IS interesting, especially with them almost being the same color paint. :-) Another good lookin' engine bay.

Are you saying the Kwazar's don't double action spray? Mine do, so perhaps you guys in the USA get two versions, a single and double action.

No D, it's the way they pump. The Kwazar, to me anyway, seems to pump more on the up stroke while the Presol is the opposite and that's what messes with my cranium. If that makes any sense.
