What do you guys think is the better setup and why? I saw PBD comment on a post that the whipple makes a bit more power up top but then I think there are some insanely good edlebrock setups out there too..

Anyone have any thoughts on the differences between these? Which has more potential, better cooling, etc?

Both breathe heavy until around 900rw. The Edlebrock is a bit of the "cool kid" right now. 2650 guys are the same type of ape swingers as the Whipple guys so the opinions are going to be cut like politics. If you're under 900rw, I think going with the one with the best inner cooler and best looking. Whipples are little lazier to make boost than the 2650's but it's probably also why they make more power on the other end of the spectrum. If we bought Whipples, I doubt we'd even notice that laziness over a 2650 as it's only a margin of a couple hundred RPM.

I'm between the Gen5 Whipple, 3.6KB or Twins. ..the longer I wait though, the tougher the choices get. Who gives me the best deal at the time I'm ready to spend $10k. Whipples on one of their 15% off sales seems to be best complete kit for the money then.

**just opinions

I have also heard the whipple tunes are more on the money than eb. An auto might like the tvs off idle 60' better but the whipple should have more big end. Whipple is more tried and tested. It comes down to preference and price when you buy i guess. Can't hurt to buy either one.

I have the Whipple since last year and I absolutely love it. I have the latest Whipple tune and so far no problems. You will really enjoy FI however you go.

I believe @Evolution Performance has the top 2 quickest 2018s blower cars(non-CJ) and they are Edelbrock equipped, in third you have Midnight with their Whipple car. Both kits will get you into the 8's, what is there to discuss? They both work, go with the one that you think best suits your needs. I run the Edelbrock on mine and am quite happy with the set up

I recently decided on the Whipple only because I have a Bullitt and Whipple has their own tune which has good reviews. When I called Edelbrock, which was my first pick, I found out that they do not have their own tune for the Bullitt so I would need a dyno tune.

I personally think the Edelbrock looks cool with the "supercharged" cam covers. I think it might be a bit cheaper without a sale as well. Both very nice.

Just curious ....what upstream from the heads is different on a Bullit after a FI install than a standard 5.0?

The stock tune file on a Bullitt is different because of the GT350 intake and CAI. So the tune file of the GT is not compatable. Since Whipple's or anyones tune modifies the stock tune file, is's not compatable. I would guess the Bullitt is identical mechanically to the GT except for the intake.

Same issues I ran into on my 2009 Bullitt...

Does the FI not come with its own tune? I'm far from an expert on tunes...is a tune not the whole tune or is a cut and paste certain areas?
The intake is removed so I'm not sure how it would play a part in the new FI tune.
Just trying to understand .....

I forgot unlike the '09 our Bullitts have 87 vs 80 MM throttle bodies. The stage 1 re-uses the stock throttle body. I know the parts list is different as far as hoses, etc connecting to the intake/TB.

I think there have been more whipple kits sold. I am always one to go with the most common setup. Either one seems pretty sound at this point though. I have been contemplating the whipple for awhile now.

I would go with the tuner kit though and get a custom tune. I think there is enough variables in even a mass produced setup to get some outliers.

definitely would go with a custom tune, im on a PBD e85 NA tune right now and its so good that I almost cant justify going FI. Id be going stage 2 at very least on both, maybe full out fuel system e85 stage 3 but idk if ill even do it. Is the edelbrock a smaller SC overall? I know the whipple is 3 liter but I dont know about the Edelbrock.

Edelbrock is 2650 ml or 2.650 L.
