I thought this was the Edelbrock supercharger thread...Whipple seems great, so do some others. However, everybody doesn't want a Whipple. There are other places on this site to see how great the Whipple is. The 2015+ Edelbrock kit seems pretty good. Maybe it's not, time will tell. Hopefully we hear more about it soon.
Right...but this thread would be dead if it wasn't for the other power adder customers with their experience to chime in, or the great tech support from the manufactures here. Hey where is Eldelbrock anyway...can't here you!

After install? Yeah it is lol. And no, I won't install it myself.
After install I will be well over $10k on mine. But I chose options that you don't have to go with. If your not in a major hurry though, I wouldn't let price be the primary reason in your decision. I mean I get it, you can afford what you can afford. It is what it is. But if, in time, you have the means... make your decision based on what you personally WANT. And what your ultimate goals are. If it's Edelbrock cool, Whipple, Roush, etc.. whatever you decide, your going to get a quality product I'm sure. Go with your gut feeling, and hope that your wallet can back that feeling. Even though I went with a Whipple, I don't think it is always the best option for everyone. Everyone likes different things both visually and functionally. And none of them are a "wrong" answer.

Install cost will be the same cost as the edelbrock. Just get a case of beer and have some friends over on a weekend lol.

Have they provided any preliminary prices for the Edelbrock system yet? If I missed that somewhere along the way in this thread then my bad.

I carry Whipple because I believe in Whipple products. I work with Eaton stuff because they offer a very good solution for a majority of people. I don't carry Procharger, Roush or Vortech. You won't see me slamming their stuff.
I am genuinely interested to hear the reasoning regarding not carrying the above two

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the installation?

I was hoping this Edelbrock SC would come in around the price of some of the Procharger kits,$5500-$6500, so I would also be able to do some cosmetic mods and come in at $10k.

Being that I'm wanting something that comes on the power better at mid rpm's I'm assuming that I would be better off staying away from a centri type SC?

False. It doesnt come on low end as hard as pd, mid range is fine

I'd prefer something that starts putting down power as low in the rpm range as possible. I was thinking the PD's start pulling around 4K where the centris hit closer to 5K?

Power lower isnt typically ideal on the street. It will make it more difficult to play around. Sure pedal modulation helps but all that spinning kills tires faster. Pd hit lower then that. Centri typically from what ive seen have around 100-120 less wtq at the same rpms as pd until around 4500-5000rpms. Dont misunderstand both will need some pedal modulation but the pd will always require a nice bit more and are more prone to going through tires quicker like i mentioned previously . PD torque down lower is also harder on the drivetrain and engine if thats something that concerns you. Some food for thought.
