I'd like to apologize to MrBillton. No bullshit.

You're right. The Ecoboost is not a better car in anything (than the 4.6 OR the 5.0), except MAYBE fuel economy -- but that's debatable, I'm sure, what with premium fuel vs regular.

I'm still relatively new to car modding, and sometimes I take people's opinions as facts, and for that I apologize. I find it hard to separate the bullshit from the fact, and there's a LOT of bullshit floating around. I was reading and watching too many reviews, like the one Spartan posted (not his fault, btw), where they all rant and rave about the Ecoboost's canyon carving handling genes.

But you're right, there's no real reason for that assessment. I enjoy my car through the turns, and I was not lying when I said I enjoyed it more than I enjoyed the GT...

But I'm starting to think that's because I don't really know how to drive a GT properly, not because of any faults in the car itself, but because I don't have experience with cars at this level. After all, everything else I've owned has been so slow as to make this Ecoboost feel like a supercar.

Please accept sincere and honest apology, and consider this conceding the entire debate.

And if you're wondering what prompted this... I stopped by a dealership and test drove a 2015 GT again, on my way home. I wanted to see if my opinion of its handling changed since when I bought this Ecoboost.

It has.

Now if a bag of approximately $10,000 could drop in my lap, that'd be nice. I already wanted a GT... now it's just worse.

Facts don't lie. My GT is faster than the Eco. If I can't afford an S550 GT PP at the moment, I take my 2010 GT premium with track pack over any whistle 4 Mustang or 6 for that matter any day of the week.

-2010 Mustang GT Manual

0-60 4.9 secs
1/4 mi [email protected] mph

-2015 Mustang whistle 4 Manual

0-60 5.6 secs
1/4 mi [email protected] mph

Both sources from Motor Trend
But what have you ran? Magazines don't race.

While you're right, I can assure you that my car, stock, ran 5.2. Still slower than 4.9, however, so your assertion stands.

I believe you now. God... I wish I never opened this thread. I was happy with the car... I really was. Now I'm going to wind up trading this thing in because I decided to come in here, research, talk and learn sh*t.

Now I know why Adam wasn't supposed to eat from the f*cking tree.
Torrie's tune was the first customer EB in the 12's. I don't think a 14.3 in a Camry should be on your radar.

I have his tune, and it's great. But a Camry creeping on a stock Mustang? Nah, the guy has a point. That sucks like an intern in the White House.

And there was a guy on here who ran a 13.4 bone stock. It's all in the driver, driver mod should be the first thing you get.

"The last V-6 Camry we tested, a 2012 SE model, weighed 3320 pounds and hit 60 mph in 5.8 seconds (0.2 second slower than a 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost). It needed only 14.2 seconds to finish the quarter-mile and did so at 100.6 mph (one tenth of a second slower than the Mustang but nearly 3 mph faster)."

Of course, this IS MotorTrend, and they had it out for Ford for awhile there... but still. I don't ask much, but beating a Camry or an Accord should be a given.

Who did that? I'd love to hear what he did. I have trouble hitting that with the tune...

I don't remember, but there was another person who ran like a 13.23 bone stock with just removing the passenger on back seat.

I really appreciate your humility here...the ecoboost is actually better than the 4.6 s197 in many ways man! and better than the 4.6 2v in many more ways! I was just talking straightline speed compared to the V8 3v...I also just love talking cars and good debates

I'd like to apologize to MrBillton. No bullshit.

Now why would you go and do that to yourself! :D

If you want it, then it will be yours one day, maybe MY '17 when they work out some of the kinks!

Your car is definitely faster than these and takes to mods way better...I don't know those car motors specifically, but I'm betting they come basically maxed out from the factory...meaning even if someone put and intake and a tune they might only gain 8-10hp...I know that's how it is with the 350z and G37...you can't really get power with bolt ons/tune

once again I'll mention that I don't know those cars specifically, but I know often times that's the case with the Asian v6s. your car is absolutely faster in every way!

Not soon enough, I'm afraid. I've got a buddy of mine who isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. But he's a good friend and has a simplistic way of looking at things that is useful from time-to-time (don't take advice about women from him, though, damn). Anyway, he's got a saying he lives by: "always buy the biggest, fastest engine, or buy a different car."

And here I am thinking I outsmarted the f*cker this time. But no, he's rolling in his overpowered sh*tbox of a Dodge, that nonetheless blows the doors off this poor four. He can't turn. The car rattles like a Mariachi band, and I honestly fear for my life every time I step in it. But there it is. If I said it didn't irritate the piss out of me, I'd be lying.

But no GT for me, unless someone wants to donate about $10k to my bank account. Hey, you know that prince in Nigeria? Yeah. Totally legit.

Probably true. But that was still irritating. When he first made this claim, I hopped onto Edmunds to verify it. Edmunds had the 2012 Camry V6 at 6.6 0-60. Figured that was debunked. But apparently other folks got it into the high 5s too. If I'd have known that, I wouldn't have bought this car. I don't need to be the fastest, but a pony car ought to beat contemporary family sedans, at least. And by a comfortable margin, at that.

Don't post this sh*t in the V6 forum, though. That's a thread that'd go nuclear.

All I can say is thank God for Torrie and his Unleashed tunes. At least I'm in the 4s on the 0-60, the mid-8s on the 1/8 mile, and the mid-to-low 13s on the 1/4 mile now. Don't have to fear Camrys at the light.

But here's a question for all the Popcorn eaters in this thread: My car (tuned) beat a Camaro SS. Not once, but twice. What does that tell you?

Wouldn't want to be a Camaro 5th-gen owner right now...

I'm a popcorn eater! The eco is a fast car and with a tune alone can beat a lot of cars and with more bolt ons and such will beat a 5.0, but there are a few people on here who I will not name that hate anything with more than 4 or 6 cylinders and bash the GT all day, everyone with a V8 either has ego issues or a small rod.

Don't know why they'd buy a Mustang in the first place, then. I disagreed with some folks here about the where the EB stood, I would *never* suggest that the 5.0 sucks. Anybody who says that clearly has mental problems.
