it happens that you're wrongLOL. You are obviously not a boat person. :-)
I own a wave runner and lunch it regularly from a couple of different ramps in my area here.
I use my wife's SUV to do so, not only because I don't like the look of a trailer pkg on a Stang: the ramps are step (thanks to the drought), always wet and with a lot of algae, etc...
For other light towing needs I can't see any issue, but again for water proximity I see a risk.
Last year they had to drag a car out of the lake here, complete fault of the driver I guess... but the clutch can be slippery when you dismount a jetski and your flip-flop are all soaked...
