If you use a car like the ford everest, kuga, etc with a chassis able to support towing, you will be able to tow. Thats the only way you'll be able to tow with an ecoboost engine
Or, an f150 w/ the Eco like my truck. :ford:

The people at eTrailer.com are saying a hitch should be available in the next month or so for the 2015.

Yeah, and then your car goes *crack! Smash! You are paying them to break your car. Ford does not cover that, and they don't have to. It is specified in the owners manual somewhere.

This is specified in the owners manual including the pages:
Essential Towing Checks...........................179
Before Towing a Trailer.....................................179
Hitches....................................................................179
Launching or Retrieving a Boat or Personal
Watercraft (PWC)........................................180
Safety Chains.......................................................179
Trailer Brakes........................................................179
Trailer Lamps........................................................179
When Towing a Trailer......................................180

Nowhere in there does it say you cannot tow a trailer, just do not exceed the max weights that are also in the manual.

Geez, did they upgrade the chassis or will it just be a little bit smaller of a problem when towing. Either way, you're probably not gonna be able to tow that much. But still, I wouldn't try towing anything with a mustang.

4 track wheels/tires, jack, some tools, chair or 2, cooler and maybe a pop up.
less than 500# on a H.F. trailer.

If I can tow with a Miata, then I should be able to tow with a Mustang, else it's worse than a hairdresser's ride.

City boys.....

If you can afford both a mustang AND a jetski, you can also afford a 500 dollar beater to tow your toys with. At very least, you can rent a truck from U-haul for 20 bucks for the day.
I'm glad you understand everyone's situation. $500 will get a nice quality, low maintenance truck....yeah right. Going to rent a truck when you want to use your jetski....that isn't annoying in the least bit.

Or you can just use the Mustang completely within it's abilities to do things like use a hitch mounted bike rack, tow a jet ski, tools and tires to the race track, have a small utility trailer for things like landscaping ect...

WTF are you even talking about? I'm paying who to break my car?

Ford says that the Mustang is fine towing 1000lbs. For liability reasons I'm sure that is way under what can safely be towed. The majority of people that want hitches for a Mustang want hitch mounted bike racks, to tow small utility trailers for track days, or a single jet ski ect.

I doubt anyone is planning to tow a horse trailer with a Mustang.

Most typical cars now have hitches that bolt on, it's not necessary to do any permanent changes most of the time.

Go to Europe and you will see people towing all kinds of things with small cars.

I'm sure all these guys have ruined there cars! :headbonk:

Mike A. ,
I agree some folks are unreasonably over the top wierded out about 'the idea' of towing with a Mustang 4,6 or 8 Cyl. Now if you want unreasonable, go here:

http://priuschat.com/threads/prius-towing-travel-trailer.127797/

You can imagine the fear folks on the Prius forum about towing 'anything' with a Prius. PLease save you fingers and our eyes and lets not go on that side track. Lots of small four cyl cars are rated for 1,000 lb towing cap. That seems to be the default spec. It's more about brakes, suspension and wheel base than engine power for safe towing.

You may want to consider a extension to the hitch for launching so your tires don't get into the water and loose traction.

If you were super paranoid about getting your back tires too close to the water, you could put a hitch jack w/ 6" wheel and a small winch, then leave your car 20' from the water as you let the winch out to back the trailer down to the water. It is super overkill... but you could. ;)

I would never tow with my mustang. Ever. I take care of my vehicles to the extreme though. I'm not certain of the mustangs towing capabilities and honestly don't want to find out. I have an older truck I use to drive to work and for truck duties. It cost me $5500 about three years ago. I've had some work done to it but nothing out of the ordinary for a 12 year old truck. If I could have only one vehicle I most definitely wouldn't have bought a mustang. Yes I love my mustang but it is not a practical vehicle if it's your only mode of transportation. Especially for family men and or homeowners.

Now this is something I wouldn't recommend.

On the other and, you won't find a flatter ramp than that. ANd this one appears to have no algae/slipperiness. The down side of flat ramps is that it does require the tow vehicle's back end to be in the water to float the vessel.

Outside the box, I wonder if there is a way to turn on line lock (if you have it) and make a device to hold the front brakes like a parking break? Maybe line lock does not work that way.

Well, I've had several 500-1k dollar beaters that were reliable. They're not that hard to find, and if you want to own a jet ski you should have some mechanical inclination... Literally one of the MOST unreliable toys.

If your priorities are having a jet ski, maybe you should've bought a sport truck like the tremor and not a sports car....
