I replaced headlights on a different car but the experience should translate to a Mustang. The oem parts were $$$ so I went with aftermarket, not eBay but medium price parts from one of the parts houses. The headlights needed some bracket mods to fit properly and the light pattern was not as good as the originals.

If I could afford it I would get the oem, if not try one of the big parts shops, eBay is my last resort. SAE and DOT certifications are a lot easier to mold into the headlights than to actually meet the standards. ;)

I agree. I'd get OEM. It's certainly not difficult to find OEM take-offs and they are worth the price. The OP could actually get the LED version that comes on later cars. The LEDs on my '18 convertible are the best headlights I have ever had.

As an aside, back in my motorcycle days, helmets were always an issue. There were a bunch of helmets out there that didn't have the DOT label. Some states required that a DOT helmet to be legal. At the time, maybe still, ebay sold just the stickers. So, yeah, not that hard to fake...

Have never had good results with no name headlamps. Cheap chinese junk. Last time i tried some the adjuster screws were seized and you couldn't even aim the damn things properly. Not mustang specific experience though.

My advise is to refinish your OEM headlights.. they tend to cloud up after years of UV but you can sand them down and reapply a clearcoat. Hell even those 5 dollar clearcoat wipes from 3m work for a few years.
