You really think Ford's factory fill is of less quality than they recommend for an oil change? Read your owners manual, the answers are really there.
no sir
I didn't mention Ford's recommendations were not trustworthy
Furthermore I did read the manual

owners have preferences and experiences aside from the manual so I asked

now if you'd like to talk about milk bags in Canada vs. milk cartons I'm down!

Look at my threads and you'll see how the factory fill oil came back. It was actually more like a 5w-20.

If your worried about you warranty and don't want any red flags raised I'd go with:
Amsoil 5W-30 Signature Series
And an OEM motorcraft filter.

Why do you recommend the MC filter over the Amsoil EAO filter?

Some dealers have gotten really shitty with my customers in the past on newer cars when using non OEM equipment.

So I have recommended OEM just to save people the hassle, unless they would like an amsoil filter.

Picking my car up Friday from the dealership which is 180 miles away. I may change it out this weekend with full synthetic or go 500-600 miles. I like to change out the factory oil early just in case there is metal shavings in the oil.

I just did my first oil change at 7200 miles. Amsoil Signature with Amsoil filter.

I changed mine at ~550 miles. It came out kind of copper colored. I found it interesting that the factory filter was the same color as the motorcraft 910-s but the only marking one it was fomoco. Seriously nothing else. I ended up filling it with Pennzoil Gold synthetic blend 5w30 because the walmart I bought the oil at didn't have motorcraft synthetic blend in the correct weight and I will likely not put full synthetic in for at least anothter 5K miles. I'm debating whether I should do another change at 1.5K miles with a new filter and synthetic blend or let this change go for 5K.

Awesome, another Jacksonville Eco owner on the forum. :headbang:

I did the first change at 2k, and the oil was nasty. I went with the Wix filter and Mobil 1 5w-30 for the first change, but will keep an eye on it. If it starts discoloring before time, won't hesitate to change it again before due. I still do the old school change cycle....3500-4k miles. Waiting until 5k makes me uneasy..lol.

Just curious - what is the recommended factory oil change interval on the EB?

and

Is it ok to do an extended oil change on a turbo equipped engine? I was under the impression that most turbo'd engines should have a 3500 oil change interval (if not using 100% Synthetic)...

I think the Ford recommended oil change interval is 10,000 miles. I can't imagine going that long on a car that should be driven hard though.

My last car was a 2013 fusion 2.0 Ecoboost. I followed the cars 10k recommendation the entire time, only changing oil when the warning came on. I put over 50k miles on the car and never had a single issue.

Thats something that came out in the early 70's that we are so used to but visitors think is really strange--we put the ketchup in the fridge too.
