eb 2.3 can barely keep up with a 228i to be honest
what year? the N52 is weak. it gets 230 at the crank, and about 175 at the wheels. Friends of mine had them and they tuned, added headers, exhausts, and 3stage intake manifolds and were barely getting 235to the wheels.

It's a lot lighter... around 3300lbs. Low 5s to 60, mid-high 13s ET and traps around mid 100s. The aftermarket support for the N20 isn't that strong though like you said.

Has anyone seen test times with an ecoboost manual with PP? The only ones I've seen show auto with PP and base ecoboost with the base tires and rear end. I still think the 335 is a little bit faster, benefit of and extra two cylinders and .7 liters worth of displacement.

I test drove a 228. I could not believe how sluggish it felt. The EB feels smoother and quicker, as for the rest of the car; its not built as stout as the tank like 1 series.

You have to make sure its in the sport+ setting. To be frank a 228i will surprise a EB Mustang. Car and Driver ran 0-60 in 4.9 and did the 1320 in high 13s @101+mph. This was with the 8spd. auto..

lol, real world numbers are much farther apart. nobody is getting the times you quoted for the EB, and i have never witnessed a 335i e92 as slow as you quoted in the 1/4. Mine would do 13.5 on a bad day with a heavy passenger(stock). I too hoped the EB would be close to the 335i, but trust me its not even close. They feel 60-75 hp apart. Thats why i ordered a GT. BMW underrates their engines
There was a guy who ran 13.4 on a bone stock EB so not sure how you figure 13.9 is unattainable.

Ok, how often are you in a drag race? Defeat this, push that and voila its amazing...been there done that for 3 years in a 335. The 228 felt like it had 90w in its crankcase, where's the torque? The ecoboost is a better tuned engine, and car IMO.

this is a dyno of somebody that ran the car stock, then ran it with mods.
I think stock vs stock there might be a race. the 335i might pull harder towards the redline, because BMW engines thrive in the above 4500 RPM range.
does anybody have a stock ecoboost dyno?
I certainly wouldn't say thrive above 4500rpm. While that is an interesting curve. Generally speaking the n54 falls flat at about 5800rpm. Taking it to redline is a time waster.

Here is a dyno from my 135i. All downhill after about 5500rpm.

DaveM3, do you have a dog in this race? Actually you need to activate sport (suspension and or drive train depending on how you configured the switch), then hold the DSC button. We are talking contemporary F20-22s here

lol in your dreams. You need to actually drive both before you quote fairy tale numbers off the internet. My 335i was darn close to my 2015 GT stock vs stock. the EB isn't even in that conversation. my sisters V6 Toyota Camry will give the EB all it wants.

What mods are on this car? Jb4 or Cobb?

your pushing about 400hp.
also what I meant was, the power is peaked around 4500, if you are shifting at 5800 at WOT you will not fall under 4500 RPM. so youll still be at peak power. if that makes sense. in my mind it does.
I had a 335i but it was never put on a dyno. bone stock. im guessing I was pushing about 280 to the wheels.

I drove 3 different 228's, had a loaner for a week. They all were pretty stout, felt every bit as fast as the EB. Both cars have small engines pushing a heavy car around. Both are "buzzy" but can attain decent times. Very similar straight line performance. The EB is the better handler though.
