It’s true
I have been smitten by the current Mustang. I was so impressed by my ‘15 EB PP I sold that to my son and bought a ‘16 GT PP. Through good fortune, the sale of my beloved ‘04 Lighting, ‘82 GT, and ‘16 GT I bought my GT350.
It really does not matter which, they all elicit positive...
The price paid for forged pistons, although I have not detected any piston rattle when cold. As an aside, those heavy and noisy when cold OEM TRW forged slugs in the old 5.0 circa ‘86-‘91 did not create undue wear in the cylinders. But that was a cast iron block with a short stroke, vs a long...
Inspirational
That is an amazing looking and performing car! The power curve is beautifully progressive. Ford would be wise to use the FPC as the basis for the blown GT500.
EB>GT
I had a ‘15 EB PP A6, loved the car so much I thought “mo is betta”; went ‘16 GT PP M6. Not a mistake, but not as impressive in terms of handling, fun to drive torque, and fuel economy. Since moved on to a ‘17 GT350 for the long term. Sold the the EB to my son and its been flawless. I...
I was in a similar dilemma. SC my existing '16 GT/PP or go for a new G350. I ended up going with a GT350 as the timing and deal worked out great. In retrospect, I prolly would have been very happy modifying the coyote. Yes the Shelby has the desirable suspension, brakes, trans, and interior...
Really. Everything else is crap huh. I knew exactly what I was getting; a near competition car refined just enough for the road with supportive seats, and decent tunes. Great suspension/steering, stiff structural integrity, awesome brakes, excellent trans, and a FPC motor remain relevant to...
By all means, with all due respect. I agree German cars get a bad rap for "reliability" it's bunk as far as I am concerned. Yes, the interior is very cheap compared to a BMW. However the GT350 suspension, brakes, transmission, differential, Motor and transmission will all survive abuse. Ask...
Is a this your first with syn fill from the factory? Clean oil is good, but syn does not breakdown its molecular structure as quickly as conventional oil. The GT350 like many European auto makers now use syn from the get go, and recommend 10k or one year. It's not intuitive, I know. I had an...
Engine break in
Has anyone considered that changing the oil as frequently as the OP documents has never allowed the rings to set properly? Ford fills this engine with a full syn oil. I am not an engineer, but I have rebuilt 4 SBF and never use syn oil on break in. Ford does not recommend...
I know I am not the first to do this, in fact I got the idea from a car on this forum. I also know it's not the dual opposing sets of letters, however I was down with doing one per tire once I saw other pics. Pay to play; if you want 2 sets per its $200+.
Well you break it in like you drive it, that is to say don't lug it, ever. Not my first rodeo, put together a few (3) short deck SBF motors and had a motor built for my Lightning. All good.
I now have 1000 mi, driving normally and averaging 18.5 mpg. I did a biz trip yesterday that was cool enough to not run AC, cruise set at 77 MPH and 24.7 MPG. About 1.5 MPG less vs my previous GT PP 3.73 gears. The Gas Guzzler tax is a joke in so many ways, like why should the Feds get this...
