i told Jugernaut what happened in detail on the 2 times i had a crank and no start.
going to the flex tune got the car started right away both times. i told him about what engineermike said.

the other night at work with a 1/4 tank of gas, i loaded up the E85R tune, it started right up. drove home and parked it. it started right up the next day.

that night i went to put 8 gallons of E85 in, but not to fill, did a KAM reset. it did not start on the first attempt, but it did on the second with a prolonged crank. drove home and it started the next day.

i think the issue is with filling it up at the pump.

no progress in the 10 days since they got back from their break. i don't know if he looked into what engineermike said.

why can't people just communicate? a simple message that takes less than 30 seconds to let me know they are working on it or something...that would be very much preferred than crickets for days on end. i feel that i have been left hanging again.

i like the tune. i can feel the difference, but i need the car to start when i put E in

/rant over for now

That's weird, maybe because engine modwise my car is stock so the files were already well vetted but I have had no issues being tuned by them 2+ months

think the issue is with filling it up at the pum
My parents van will 100pct konk out about a minute after filling up. So they circle the parking lot till it dies and then start it up again and never a second thought till the next fill up.

While not the same problem, it would seem logical you need to look at your fuel system and perhaps less upset at the tune. Unless of course the tune has a mistake in it that upon detection of fuel level change it does something weird.

Aren't computer software driven cars, great?

first thing Jon will see from me when he returns back to work is my E85R WOT logs
Whatever happened to sending him your crank logs? Just push your car out of the gas pump so you're not blocking service.

I didn't know that was a thing and I wasn't asked to do one. He said previously that my idle and cruise were pretty much perfect on the E85R tune.

Have/do you overfill when you are at the pump? meaning add a couple pumps after the handle shuts off?

The very act of flashing is "fixing" whatever causes it to not start, I reckon.

So go to gas station with the e85r tune active. Put in 6 gallons and then start logging before attempting a start. Tap the power button to get the accessories up, start logging. Then hit the button again for engine start. And if it doesn't fire you have a log.

If it didn't fire, next do a dry crank. Log that.

Try a normal start again with logging running.

If it won't fire then do ONLY a kam reset. Log the startup attempt(s).

If still no joy, reflash back to flex. And start logging before attempting startup.

Send all of the logs properly labelled for dissection.

You have to do your part to troubleshoot. Reaching immediately for the reflash doesn't help.

i'll try that next
Are there any codes stored in the PCM when this no start event happens? When you have the no start, have you tried reflashing the E85R tune instead of flashing the Flex Tune? Do you have any others modifications not listed in your signature? (Different injectors, fuel pump, intake manifold etc?)

no codes come up on the BDX. no check engine lights either.
haven't tried reflashing the E85R tune, just went directly to the flex.
no other mods.

Try re-flashing the E85R tune when this happens. If the car starts, then you know that re-flashing is resetting something (My suspicion is the purge solenoid/valve) instead of it being a problem with the E85R tune.
