Just did this adjustment and was super easy. My parking brake worked fine but I had to pull up almost all the way to engage it or get a good lock. Plus it looked very ugly sitting up so high.

Jack your car up and ALWYAS support the car with proper jack stands.

On the left side of your mid pipe (big resonator) there are 3 cables. The middle one has a 10mm nut on it.

You need a deep 10mm socket, extension and a swivel. Tighten the nut all the way but not too tight. Back it off 2 turns and go back in your car and test your brake. Adjust it till you like the way it sits.

The 10mm nut on mine was loose and I did not even use a ratchet. I Just turned it till it was nice and tight and backed off 2 turns.

2 clicks and my parking brake will engage nicely.

Here is the pic of the OP description.

I was having some exhaust work done and wanted to get access to the adjustment - it's on the left side of the car 'standing' vertically on the drive tunnel. You will need a socket/open wrench and a grip to hold the other end (other wise it will turn infinitely).

Hope this helps!

Mine was so loose I did not even needed to hold the other end. But yes you are correct, you need to hold the other end.

I can't thank you guys enough for this post and the awesome picture you posted. Wish I was techy enough to do that. I just got my 16 GT 350 2 days ago and the parking brake is not even close to being adjusted correctly. I'll need to get some race ramps to get it up high enough to get to it. Again can't thank you enough!!

I took my car to the dealership and they fixed the loose handbrake. They had to order a new part. Cable for the handbrake. Now the handbrake feels normal
