Dumb question

Hello everyone, so, I have a 350R. I found another 350R from the same dealer with just 1K less miles (I have only like 2300 on mine), but it came with everything (the manuals, window sticker, crank shaft…all the cool stuff), but mine didn’t come with those, I kinda had to get some of that separately (the previous owner kept them). A part of me wanted that complete package. Given that I really have not driven my car, should I trade it for the “complete” one? I know it sounds super dumb, but I have to ask and just need someone to talk me out of it.

For what the trade up will cost you, you can easy reproduce everything you’re missing. Hell…. I’ve been saving my crankshaft paperweight in a box for the new owner of my car, but since it’s been 2 years and he still hasn’t reached out, I’ll sell you mine. Get a sharpie to change the chassis number and you’re good to go!

I’m pretty sure you can order the window sticker from ford for relatively cheap.

My personal opinion… way too much would be lost monetarily over little potential gain.

Considering dealers usually only give whole sale price for your trade in and charge $10k above private party. I wouldn't do it

Need more information. Without knowing what the actual cost to you to do the trade it’s hard to say yay or nay. That said, only you can decide if the cost is worth it or not. You can piece an owners kit together, just takes a little time. I get wanting the whole package, for some it’s as important as the car itself. I could get past it, but if I wasn’t ever selling the car that might be a different decision.

I know in my state you’d be out at least the sales tax of the transaction.

I don’t think trade in would drop it at all.

I’m pretty sure you could find someone to CNC you something similar for much less than $5k.

Lots of good advice here. If you’re happy with the color, I would drive the car you have until the wheels fall off. Color and condition trumps everything else when it comes to these special, low production GT350R mustangs

I actually asked and they said they wouldn’t be able to reach out. I could try asking again, but it’s been around 2 years since I bought the car. My car had 1 owner who had unfortunately passed away and it was just sitting; his wife then made the decided to sell it (upon which I became the eventual owner).

That would be a huge waste of money. Just buy the parts you want for your current car. You will save money and know the car's history

I recreated the Owner’s Supplement Kit with using the certificate and chassis number plaque Ford Show Parts and Carroll Shelby Racing sells, respectively. It’s pretty easy to do and your biggest expense is buying a complete Owner’s Supplement kit which matches your car’s model year.

Overall I’m happy I did it and having the recreated Owner’s Supplement Kit does make the car more complete, I think.
