I just bought a set of DDS 800hp axles for my 2016 Mustang GT and they do not slide into the rear end carrier. I put a micrometer on them and they are slightly larger in diameter than stock axles. Has anyone else had problems installing these axles?

No dramas installing mine.
Do they fit in there at all or simply will not even start?
How much bigger are we talking here?

Its the driver side axle it goes into the splines about half way and gets stuck. I checked it with calipers and the DDS axle is .002 larger in the splines and .010 where the bearing rides. I removed the retainer clip to make sure that it was not causing a problem and made no difference. The stock axle goes in and out with a problem.

Are BOTH DSS axles showing the same measurements?

I did not check the passenger side yet I just been dealing with the drivers side. I have to check it out. Did yours go in easy?

Yes, went in relatively easily.
I’d be checking both axles to be sure there isn’t some sort of weird variation.
I’m assuming you have the correct side... stranger things have happened.
I don’t recall which side runs the longer splined section sorry

I know this is an old thread but what was the fix? Had the same issue on my passenger side yesterday. It is bigger by 0.01MM than stock.

Hopefully I do t run into this installing my 2k dss shafts. But I’d say you need to replace that seal first. Looks like she been leaking for a bit

It’s old and discolored. Probably excess fluid from factory

There's the clip that has to get by. Give it a couple good shoves and it'll go.

Yeah we tried that lol. Compared to the driver side it’s not normal. Driver side clicked right in. We measured the shaft and it was .1MM thicker than stock. That’s not the case on the driver side one

Ya there's tons of room in there. Try harder.
Unless you have the shafts on the wrong side.. then don't try so hard.
