My experience with the DSC for my GT350

I have been able to work with the DSC guys since my first outreach and it has been great. They are a smaller company but they are great guys, and this is definitely a big leap forward in suspension tech for the amateur driver/racer. I am DEFINITELY not a pro at tuning a suspension or making adjustments (nor would I be able to do any of that myself with coilovers) however, the ability to download tunes, and make changes via a laptop is awesome. As we build our community of early adopters we will have more support. I am hosting the group buy in the Track Shelby GT350s group on Facebook (there is a separate post on m6g about that as well), together we can share our experiences.

I can say that I had the V2 tuner in my 350 for around 3 months where I used it for daily driving, spirited driving on Tail of the Dragon and a Track Day at Palm Beach International Raceway and it was an improvement. I will be upgrading to the V3 and I switched back to stock for the past few weeks and I can tell a big difference in just daily driving. I am attending an autocross this weekend at Dixie in South GA and I expect to feel that negative difference as well. I am really looking forward to getting the V3 controller in my car, ASAP.

I posted an install video, and a review video to the Spectro Racing YouTube channel - feel free to reach out with any questions.

The thing with it is while I understand the unlimited tuning potential, I do not have the know how or the time to tweak all this a lot (a little is not a problem). I like to tinker with things but I also like to enjoy the car without thinking too much about it. So what I am basically saying is that I am really interested in the idea of this controller but I am not sure if it is what I want. I read a lot of threads on the Corvette forums where this is a lot more popular. and it is a bit of a mixed bag. I wish there were a reputable shop selling tunes (I would gladly pay for it) for GT350s other than the default ones which some like and some do not it seems. Which brings me to the question: how good are the default tunes for GT350 - and yes I am worried because it does not seem to have the level of community support as Corvettes or Porsches?

What is awesome about it? What does it really do for you? Let’s be honest, the answer is that you have no idea. Am I wrong?

SpectroRacingGT350, do you have lap times or any sort of telemetry data to show improvement on track? Or are you going off feel alone?

This is what I like.

Normal mode to be sport mode
Sport mode to be track mode
Track to be super track mode

Now i am going by feel only. I don't track this car and where I live the roads are very smooth. Like I said I am going by feel only and I don't care about track times.

Can the dsc accomplish this for me?

Lol! What the heck is super track mode? If you don't track the car why even mess with the track settings?

What I want is 25% more stiffer in each mode. That's it.

If that's all you want, buy a set of the Ford Performance lowering springs. They make everything about that much stiffer in each mode and only drop the car something like half an inch.

I already have the sways and springs installed. The car actually rides smoother only stiffer when going over bumps.

Ah, well then I'm pretty sure the DSC controller will do what you want. You might need to set your own custom tune though.

Remember the current controller is V3, as more experience is gained from users and DSC the controller won’t be obsolete and the firmware can be updated, so you aren’t having to rebuy anything. (Clearly more info has already been added from V2 to V3)

Does the DSC V3 controller have data logging?
That would make tuning much easier.
Thanks

What's adequate? Feels better or actual lap time improvement? For me it must be lap times as I have no intention of making my R ride like a "Cadillac." I am certain that with the DCS controller/tuning software, time to interpret the input and a track for a weekend would most certainly yield faster lap times. Maybe someone like xXANCHORMONXx can exploit the device to its fullest potential. I would possibly consider this product with verifiable and repeatable data like there is on the GM and Porshe platforms. But there isn’t. Till then, I do not have the time to properly test and tune the suspension on a race track. I hope that the product takes off but with so few GT350's that are actually tracked, we'll probably never have good data and proven settings to go off
I have definetly gotten faster with the controller.

The tune on the unit imo is junk. I was able to really dial it in lap after lap. I was able to do a lot of anti dive tuning which was huge. Some guys say how they feel like the rear end is unstable under hard braking. I got rid of 100% of that. Now my only two limitations is my ability and the spring rates, the R ones aren’t enough. I’m just waiting on BMRs springs at this point.

If your problem is the front springs you can use any s550 springs. But rear is where the problem is. My frpp springs are nice with 245lbs up front but the rear is little soft and floaty for my taste.

You are the first I heard saying that FP springs have less rate than R springs. Everybody else so far has claimed the opposite. How did you get this info?
