The 3.73's are plenty low. When drag racing you want to avoid the 4-5 shift. I'm crossing the 1/4 screaming in 4th. I think 3.55's would be perfect

To be honest thats my first american car. and i barely know anything about drag racing and building them :) thats y I'm here to learn. Thats what i tought. That 17 or 18 are best for just drag racing. But i want something that looks nice and grips well on the track and street. So 19s it is :))). i also want to buy lightweight wheels. :) Ah question are BF Goodrich good DR's or should i just spend little more on MK or NItto?
If your going to leave the tires on for street duty. I'd go with Nitto 555r for tire life. You can probably get 15k miles out of them. M/T et streets or nitto NY05r will give you better results on the track but won't last nearly as much tire life.

Ye thats what i ran into. I did some test runs on a empty road and i either finish in 4rd or 5th but the 4th is low times and 5 are really high speed. :(

I agree. For drag racing on the PP looks like a 28" slick is the ticket

This.

So what would u suggest?

Get your wheel and tire combo sorted out. Go to the track and see what it does. You will probably notice that you will want a 17" rear wheel setup with 28" slicks just for the track.

Hey sorry if I'm in the wrong section. I Have a stock PP GT. M6 Looking for wheels upgrade. Question for drag racing. Which would be best 19 or 20s? Might be considering 4.10 gears later on. Thank you for ur answers.

Future mods are basic, CAI, Headers, CB exhaust, FR Cobra Jet intake. 47lbs injectors.
Get a race star 17 inch rear wheel with a Mickey Thompson drag radial and 18x5 race star skinny up front for dragging. 4.10 gears with mt82 tranny is ridiculous (no first gear), anything higher then 3.31 for automatics slow down the car as wel . If you want a better way to make your car feel like it has shorter gears like 4.10s just go with 26 inch street tires instead of 27.5 inch stock tires. For drag strip your gonna want 27.5 or 28 inch at least in the rear so you stay in 4th gear going through the traps.

Well, some of what you said is true. Too bad that not all of your advice is correct. 4.10's do NOT slow down a 5.0L/auto.

You've admitted in another forum your 4.10's did not help you at all. And you still look dumb after all this time when all the rest of us ran faster than you with less gear and less converter. But when that's always brought up you just come up with excuse after excuse. Your act gets old Brian and many of us have tired of your B.S.

Stick think your 4.56 gears were a good match for your MT82?

Woahhh dude go ahead ask any tuner or anyone running an auto how any gear more then 3.31 works out for them...puts them in over drive wayyyy to early and doesn't allow power to work through gears enough. As far as mt82 trannys go they don't even make 4.10s for the IRS yet goes to show the need for 4.10s....there is none. 4.10s are not a neccessity for a quick revving high revving coyote 5.0

His tuner is Mike Rousch who tested 4.10's in his auto personally and found 3.15's faster. And yet STILL Brian didn't believe him.

The 4.56's behind the MT-82 in my '11 5.0L didn't help at the dragstrip, but it was entertaining as a daily driver. Not every mod works out as expected.

However, I'm very satisfied with 4.10's behind my 5.0L/6R80. A 3850 lb car running 11.50's @ 117+ with very minimal mods (see signature) is no slouch. Check all of those other websites with 1/4 mile lists where 3.15/3.31 cars are going quicker than mine and you'll find those cars have a bunch of weight reduction and/or more mods.
