Aside from an appropriate wheel and tire setup, what does everyone feel the must-have mods are for the S550 at the drag strip to get good launches and consistent results? (Experience and practice are obvious.) Thanks!

Irs suspension pieces. That reduce wheel hop. Wheel hop is not your friend.

What he said, I just installed the IRS Braces and Vertical links and it made a HUGE difference, basically eliminated wheel hope and makes the rear end feel more planted.

Have you guys researched Comp's new 2018-19 cams? Are you going to test these now that they are released?

Thanks everyone. Will do some research on the Steeda bits and see what's in the budget before the event in November.

Our Drag Program is always looking at stuff - there is too much to keep track of, lol but I will check!

    Hello Jeff,

When you are ready, I can put you in contact with the team that worked closely on our drag car - they can fine tune your set-up :)

    Let me know!

Tune will help you get better results but might make it harder to be consistent since it will give you more power!

A lot of us use completely stock suspension. Myself and many others have done low 1.3's with bone stock suspension.
It is all in the tires. Get a set of Mickey Thompson ET street R's.
When you start getting really serious Viking shocks and the IRS cradle lockouts are great products!
If you're staying with street tires all the stuff mentioned before me are great add ons and vastly help reduce wheel hop!

Switching to E85 will be your best next mod. I can get you set up on a fuel system good for 1000whp on E85 for a great price!
Send me a message if you'd like!

Great fuels yes. But if you're trying to push more E85 is the way to go.
Also that whipple tune is very conservative. Just switching tuners alone will help grab some more power out of it.

By switching tunes what would be a conservative estimate on 1/4 mile times improvement?I have run in the 1.50 sixty foot time so my suspension and tires work oki.

LPF went 10.1's @ over 138mph forever ago with a roush blower S550 on E85.
I believe that was them hardly pushing the car as well.

Agreed. A tune alone will have him trapping 136. Ad fuel and you'll probably trap 140ish.
