Door Prop Rod

I still see at some judged car events, participants holding doors open with prop rods. Is this the proper way of showing off the interior? I bought a set right when Covid started and have not used them. This was mainly due to the fact that there were very few car shows going on. My question is: are these okay to use (I have an important event in mid-June) without looking over the top?

At $125/pr, those are the “cheap” ones?
Most shows I go to the cars are parked close enough that propping open the doors would be a nightmare.
